I have always loved the infinity symbol from the Infinity, Evolution, and Departure albums. Also the font and style from the Revelation cover. The band has been using some quasi - early 70s, psychedelic wannabe logo off and on the past few years. That and the logo that shows on the browser tab from their website look cheesy to me.

It seems like management would want to be using the most marketable logo possible on everything, so that is recognized by fans easily. Def Leppard, ACDC, KISS, the Eagles and others have been using the same recognizable logos for decades. You see the logo and automatically think of the band. Journey has missed the boat on this.

I believe this began with Frontiers, when Steve Perry ditched the Scarab theme.....jerk.

Yeah, what's with the Tron like cover for Frontiers? I get the ROR cover, don't agree with going away from the one word themes, but at least it ties into the album name and song. It just seems like that they lost a lot of brand identity without a consistent logo over the years. Even looking at their website today, while the layout is not bad, a lot of the information and links are outdated or broken. I get this for a band like Faces or Cream or something that hasn't been around for decades and just has a placeholder.

But to be a touring act, charging premium prices, it seems like it would be wise to have a website supporting this iteration of the band. Perhaps like with ticket prices, they think that they can just do a little effort and people will pay to see it. I don't know.

But they brought it back for TBF and greatest hits 1/2. heh
Actually liked the Frontiers cover and had a black T from the concert for ages. (and it did have the infinity logo)
Finally found another one years ago and wore it to every Augeri Concert.

Disliked the ROR cover but loved the video played in the promotional videos for the CD.

Hey didnt know they did the same for Suzanne

I vaguely remember this. I recall at the time MTV or someone saying that they had decided not to do any videos for the album. After the Separate Ways video, I can see why. Then, realizing that without video, promotion was severely suffering for the album so they threw together the live show videos (at least that is my recollection).

Yep, remember vividly the Rockline interview with Neal, Steve and Jon.
They didnt want videos, and Be Good To Yourself was with a very few top 10 songs that never had one.
Boston's Amanda and Van Halens Why Cant this be Love come to mind.
Later they released live versions of Girl Cant Help It and Ill Be Alright because to show they we still a band.

The only real video, a month or two after they disbanded was Why Cant this night go on Forever, which even though had heavy rotation on MTV was never really a "hit".

If Journey had a manager who cared about them, they would NOT have these problems. They would have one Logo that everybody loved.

Also, a good manager would book them to tours alone as the headlining act and not with another band. Casual fans want the dirty dozen. Hard core fans want deep cuts. The only way to do this is to tour alone. Then maybe have Cheap Trick as a warm up band for 40 minutes, but we need two-hours of Journey to get to all the material both groups want.

Next, a good manager would be vocal about a song being featured in the movie. "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" was Aerosmith's biggest hit, debuting at number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, where it stayed for four weeks in September, and reaching number 1 in many countries around the world, including Australia, the Philippines, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Norway, Italy, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. "I Don't Want to Miss A Thing" was actually played in the movie where people could hear it. Meanwhile, Journey's Remember Me was so far in the back that nobody could hear it. Remember Me was NOT a big hit for Journey and nobody besides hard core fans even knows about the song.

Journey needs to get a new manager who cares about them, their music, and their fans. Touring with three other bands and NOT putting out new music is horrible. This is NOT good for casual fans, hard core fans, or the band themselves.

Its very sad that "Remember Me" was suppose to be the ending song in Armageddon and they even changed the lyrics to reflect that. That idea was tossed and the song was barley audible during the taxi scene.
Probably my favorite Augeri era song.
