OK the brain is in sleep mode possibly, but what am I missing here.
Where is "Lonely Dreamer" at, on Departure ?
Or is it just lyrics on a trax on Departure ?
If it didn't show up on Departure, is this on Raised on Radio as 'Happy to Give' ?
I think I missed the bus somewhere on this one ... :P

When it comes to performing live, Perry says:

"We keep the stage volume down. We can hear our voices better and the quality of the instruments is much better."

Yet when it came to recording "Lonely Dreamer" from Departure, it sounds like Perry recorded the vocals while making sure the band could do those same vocals live:

"I was talking with the guys, I have a three-part vocal harmony on Lonely Dreamer. Since I did the vocals on the last album, I am hoping we can do it live. So that is why I was asking, "I have a three-part thing, let's just go over it a little bit." I wanted to check out the feasibility of it being played live, before we lock ourselves in the studio."

When was this interview? I remember an interview stating they recorded like 17 songs.
Wonder if it didn't make the cut.

Otherwise yeah, He must be thinking of happy to give, a rare song i believe featuring only his vocals/backing vocals.

The whole "last album I did all the vocals" he could be referring to "Street Talk" where he did all the vocals/backing.

All other Journey albums with Steve contained backing vocals from Neal/Ross/Jon/Gregg or Randy.

Interview is from March - April 1980 .

Went back and listened to Departure, there's no lyrics and no song
title of 'Lonely Dreamer' mentioned.

If Perry doesn't want to release a new album, he should at least allow old songs from his days with Journey to be released. It sounds like they have a lot of previously unreleased material.

Home at Last is certainly one of his best solos. I don't know why he never put it on his Greatest hits + 5 unreleased album.
