They both sing great but I literally cannot listen to the lyrics in most of these Frontiers songs anymore. Cliched and amateurish almost all the time. I really want to like them but generally cannot get through a single listen on most of them. I'm not saying they would sell any better if these songs had great lyrics, but at least I could get through a full listen and might want to listen again.

The Frontiers records stuff really is getting stale. The only cool things they have going on right now are Seventh Wonder and The Dark Element. Even W.E.T. has gotten sort of boring.

Agreed.
When you have one person, Alessandro Del Vecchio, writing for multiple projects, it's inevitable that everything will start sounding alike. It can't be a good thing in the long run either. It's not sustainable.

I'm glad Deen is having another run at his musical career. There are a couple things I wonder:
1. What is Smitty's intended tenure with Journey? I thought he gave them a 2 year commitment, but we're on year 3 and he seems to be fine with it. What I don't know, is how long he plans to stay.
2. What is Deen's future in the music industry, and is it possible for him to eventually return to Journey, or did fired mean fired forever?
