I have to admit I was completely wrong about "To Whom It May Concern." I used to skip it when listening to Eclipse, but recently I listened to it again and it might be the best song on the CD. It is solid from start to finish.

Why doesn't Journey play "To Whom It May Concern" in concert and then Neal can jam at the end with his "Venus" instrumental? That could be Neal's one solo for the concert.

I just listened to it again because of this post. Still don’t like it very much. Still don’t really like Eclipse all that much. I loved it when it came out, but Arrival and Revelation have way more staying power.

One of the many great songs found on the underrated Eclipse CD.

great song, but the outro a little too much. That Schon guitar riff in the beginning and end is awesome. cool Pineda had a hand in writing it. Lyrics are like no other Journey tune ever.

Closest I can think of would be One More and Colors of the Spirit.

Love Eclipse and it seems to pick up after She’s a Mystery- . Love the whole album except Mystery which is awful and
I skip.

If you skip one of the songs because it's so bad then you clearly don't love "the whole album." I think "She's a Mystery" is a great retro tune. And that ending....damn.

I wonder how much influence on the song To Whom It May Concern did Arnel have. If it was a lot, the band needs to let him do more.

considering that may be one of the very few vocals where Arnel is singing from the heart as opposed to singing from a lyric sheet, I'd say it's got a lot of him. Easily one of, if not his very, best vocals.
