Can somebody answer a question for me. Every time I bring up Steve Perry's new album, everybody tells me Steve Perry had throat cancer. Is this true or just a vicious lie?

I have listened to many interviews and it is never discussed. Perhaps Perry makes it clear he doesn't want to talk about it, but I don't think he ever had throat cancer. It is very frustrating that everybody believes Perry had it when it is not proven fact, but just ignorant gossip.

Set me straight one way or another. Did Perry have throat cancer or not?

Not true. It's an old rumor from the 80's. People saw him take his mom to the
Drs and assumed he was there for him, not his mom. He actually has talked about that
in one of the interviews.

Nope. Not true.

One of these last interviews he did they asked him the same question. He said no he never had throat cancer when people saw him at the hospital with his mom they just assumed he had throat cancer but he never did.

Thank you, everybody, for the answers. Now I can put this to rest by telling people that it isn't true.

Didn't he have something removed from his face a few years ago though?

I thought that's what this was:

He had some skin cancer removed, says they got it all and he didn't need further treatment.
