Posted: Thu Dec 27, 2018 4:02 pmGuys, it kills me but I've been underwhelmed with Perry latest. I love his voice. His music has moved into the old folks home which is killing me. I'm 52 but my music resonates with rock and roll. Veta Gran Fleet has the crap though so we'll keep rocking!

I have to admit that I'm really getting fatigued with the "Perry is in so much pain" routine as reasoning for what he produces as his work. And I'm not accusing SP of perpetrating that line of thinking all of the time, either. I think it's taken a life of it's own from his die hard fans that use it as an excuse for not breaking out of this melancholy routine he's found himself in.
If heartbreak is what drives his creative juices right now, I guess I'll take it. Traces ended up being a cold dead fish to me a lot faster than I wanted. And that is really disappointing. I just hope he is able to channel whatever he has left in his tank into new and creative efforts that don't constantly swirl around grief.
