I hear the Keebler Elves are looking for a new guy.

Jon may have a whole new career.

Here's the sad truth. When I read your comment, even before clicking on the link, I knew the remark was sarcastic.

Jon is a crappy singer. That said, I still think Augeri/Cain should have done a duet here or there. The Rolie/Perry trade-off was part of the classic sound.

I wont disagree, but I thought he sounded ok on "The songs we leave behind"
which is a pretty good tune.

He's noticeably auto-tuned on that.

I meant new material. Augeri and Cain did FTW/Anytime on several occasions before the Generations tour. Also, the Generations tour was a lipsync abomination.

As I've expressed many times on this board, Rolie was never a great singer (IMO) and it took a big pair of stones for him to want to duet with the likes of Steve Perry. I don't think Jon would ever put himself in a situation where he's toe to toe with Arnel or Augeri.

I don't understand. Augeri and Cain did FTW/Anytime and Just the Same Way on many occasions.

My only opinion was this - the Rolie/Perry duets were very much a part of the heritage sound. The reformed lineup should have explored it with Augeri, Arnel, etc. Not sure how Cain feels about them.

In what world is Rolie NOT a great singer? He was lead vocals on many hit songs for Santana. Just because he is NOT a soprano, that doesn't mean he isn't a great singer. He is awesome and is under-rated.

Remember that Mr. Gregg Rolie is in the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame twice. Steve Perry is only in there once!

Again, just my opinion. And one that was obviously shared by Columbia Records when the label told Herbie he needed to find another singer or lose their contract.

Quite far from a duet, but Cain answers Perry during the chorus of Chain Reaction (“chain reaction...”) and at the end of Only the Young (“young can say...”).

If only Neil had added these as bonus tracks to Eclipse, maybe they wouldn't still be littering Wal-Mart bargain bins.
