Somethin' To Hide (Vocal Focus)

By using Audacity and it's latest update, I've been able to do my best job to isolate the background instruments and try and hone in on Perry's vocals. I've been doing this with nearly every song and I'll be damned if it's not awesome! I decided to share what I think a lot of people think is Perry's best vocal performance.

If you'd like to hear other Journey songs like this, I'd be more than happy to provide.

This is (sadly) the closest we'll ever get to vocal isolation, especially for a deep deep deep cut like this.

And those final 30 or so seconds, are you kidding me?!

Thanks for this. At the time Perry could sing those E5 (I believe) notes.
In the TBI interview with Dan Rather he states Perry's voice as a smooth Alto, but isnt Alto a term for female singers?
I always heard him as being a tenor.

Would love to hear the flip side of his vocals.
And what low notes he hits on "Captured by the Moment"

It is just crazy the range he had (and maybe still has)
