Per Neal's Twitter -

"Jason is an excellent musician and plays keyboards as well as very strong vocalist. David Foster hasn’t used him all these years for nothing. He will be a great addition to us. Jon and I had a blast with him yesterday. The future is bright!"

So are we talking about a background dude replacing another background dude? Sigh

If you really like the music I'd spend time here: https://www.facebook.com/E5C4P3JourneyTribute/

They are better than the current Journey configuration.

Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and Journey band member Jonathan Cain is tapped by ABC Audio to host its Rock & Reelz Thanksgiving weekend special. During the three-hour radio program, Cain takes a look back at some of the greatest rock songs from popular films such as "Goodfellas," "Easy Rider," "Bohemian Rhapsody" and more. The special features Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Aerosmith, Bob Seger, Pat Benatar, Blondie and Journey, as well as Cain’s solo Christmas single “Wonder of Wonders” that is garnering significant radio airplay this holiday season.

I would agree with you - if not for the fact that these background guys also sing lead. Travis's tunes on the Japan DVD are actually a highlight imo. Schon/Cain just had the new background dude sing lead with them at Scott Hamilton's ice skating charity thing. So who knows where this will all lead.

Truth. I keep asking them to book a date here in Michigan. May have to book a trip down to Ohio to see Escape again. I tell everyone they are better than current journey at a fraction of the cost.

TNC, I agree, get a new dude and move on.

What I will say is anyone they've trotted forward are not of any caliber that would carry Journey forward. FM

They need someone with some juice. The only one I know now is Kelty. Dude is good.

I'm not impressed with the shadow dude. Castronovo may be better than all of them!
