Any big Josh Ramos fans?

Postby Journey/Survivor » Fri Dec 27, 2019 2:47 pm

Sorry. I know this isn't a Journey question. But I figured since he has a Journey connection with The Storm, I'd post it in this thread.

Are any of you big fans of Josh Ramos?

I have and love his playing on the two "The Storm" albums, the first "Two Fires" album, and the "V.U" album which he guested on.

I was aware that he played on a Hardline album, but I was not aware that Hardline have done multiple albums since Schon and Castronovo left the band.

Can anyone here tell me how many albums Josh Ramos played on, what the titles of those albums are, and if you like the albums?

How do you like any of the Hardline albums after Schon and Castronovo left the band?

The Ramos/Hugo project sure has its real good moments, yeah a little formulaic but well worth the price.
A great blend of The Storm and Hugo's solo albums.

Dean Cramer
Jody Shelton

Have a listen to Josh with Chalfant, Valory, Rolie, etc.

Chalfant would challenge Perry on any live recording here IMO.

that is all!

I have the 2 "The Storm" CD's. I love those. I love Chalfant's singing, Ramos' guitar playing, and of course the performances of Rolie, Valory, Smith and also Wikso.

I have the first "Two Fires" CD's. Did they release 2 CD's, or was it 3 CD's?

I have the "The View" or "V.U." CD.

Which Hardline CD's did Ramos play on?

It would appear that he released a CD with Hugo?

I guess he released a solo album? Is it just one solo album? Or has he released more than one solo album?

Any other albums that Josh Ramos has been on?

I would love to eventually get as many CD's as possible that Josh Ramos has played on. My only problem is affording to buy any of them.

I'd also love to get all of the albums that Kevin Chalfant sings on.

Which of the Hardline albums that Ramos plays on is the hardest Rocking album?

Does Ramos get to Rock out more with Hardline than he did with The Storm or Two Fires?

Absolutely, and he got a lot of song writing credits on the second album with Hardline.

Here is a list of the albums that I've been able to find listed as having Josh Ramos on guitar.

If anyone knows of any albums that I'm missing, or if I make a mistake on the list, please let me know/correct me!

Le Mans: On The Streets

The V.U.: Phoenix Rising

The Storm: The Storm

The Storm: Eye Of The Storm

Two Fires: Two Fires

Two Fires: Ignition

Hardline: Hardline II

Hardline: Live At The Gods Festival

Josh Ramos: Living In The Light

Ramos-Hugo: The Dream

Hardline: Leaving The End Open

Hardline: Human Nature

L.R.S.: Down To The Core

Two Fires did a third album called "Burning Bright." Does anyone know if Josh Ramos plays on it or not?

Am I missing any albums that Josh Ramos has played on that any of you know of?

Thanks for the info!

I thought that I had read that Ramos wasn't on that album. But then I saw one thing that made it sound like maybe he played on at least one song on the album.

Yes, one of my favorite guitarist ever.

I saw the band on this tour in Indy. They were on FIRE. Ramos was killer without a wankfest. The rest we're cool. Chalfant was at his absolute best. I'd argue Chalfant was as close to Perry's capablity as possible in this clip. The dude was FKN KILLER. I'd put this performance up against Houston with Perry. Have a listen and let the hate come in!

Do you know of any albums that Josh Ramos has played on other than the ones that I listed above?

If you are a big Kevin Chalfant fan, and if you feel like making a list, I'd appreciate a full list of all of the albums that Chalfant has been on!

I would say that if we are talking about Steve Perry vs Kevin Chalfant at their best, I'd say that Perry was a little better. But I will also say that Perry at his worst was "worse" than I've ever heard Chalfant.

I love Josh Ramos' guitar playing. I'd say that he's kind of a poor mans Neal Schon. Except I hate to say that because Ramos is so good that he shouldn't really be called a "poor mans" anyone.

This may be old news, but I came across this interview with Josh Ramos from November of 2020 and he was talking about how he'd like to possibly reform The Storm with Ross and Kevin.

Used to be. Had a good relationship with him over the years but his last album was shite and he’s turned into a far right Trump loving wingnut so my appreciation for him has greatly diminished.

I've never heard his most recent album. What is it that you don't like about the album? Is his playing drastically different from past albums?

Terrible production and average songs.

He’s turned into a bit of a loon recently (but so has Kevin). A Storm reunion album along with Gregg would have been nice a few years back

Kevin is still singing great. I would welcome this.

They should absolutely do this...pull in Steve Smith to record, like the debut. It would be interesting to hear/see where it would go.
