Similar to Eclipse, Neal is tweeting portions of new song ideas as he practices. Tweet below.

"I’m hoping to turn it into new Journey. I sent it to JC and he dug it. This is just a great outro. I have cool verses “Don’t play with my Heart” title
heavy slow blues"

Hopefully Neal keeps coming up with more and more ideas and the planned EP turns into a full length album. It seems like Cain doesn't want to even bother trying to come up with new song ideas.

I for one wish Neal would put down the electric guitars and pick up his acoustic again. That's how songs like "Patiently" got written. This sounds like one of his solo tracks.

Too early to be so critical. Jon will takes bits and pieces of the stuff Neal sends him, arrange it, add lyrics..etc. It's a process and has been going on since the Escape days. Neal's improv noodling/practice shedding comes up with a lot of gems. I appreciate that he lets fans in on the creative process.

Not sure if it's my browser whether on my laptop or my phone, but for some reason I can't play the video.

Unrelated, but has anyone wondered about the how or why Neal is getting all of these vintage guitars? Not that it'll break him, just seems to stand out. Any thoughts on the backing pad/waves he plays over?

Man I'm not feeling it. Neil is the bomb. It comes down to soul. Any technician can do a fkn wankfest on the fret board. It takes soul to deliver something people resonate with. Neil can play faster than most can think. IMHO he would be better served with something more simple with soul. I'm not sure it's in the cards. Sigh We might need Josh Ramos to fill in.

I hear plenty of soul actually. Excited for the new album.

Unfortunately, I can't listen to the clip. But if it's Neal playing a "slow blues" I'd imagine it has a lot of soul to it.

It sounds like fast blues to me. If Neal thinks this is a slow song, I cannot wait for his fast songs! :D
