Neal posted that Merck Mercuriadis is "our new manager." Big move if true.

I’ve seen Schon tag him recently now that you mention it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merck_MercuriadisI’m really excited. Some may view this as a mess AND they may be right but Journey’s path has been an uninspired path to retirement so at least this gives us a chance at new music and tours with some passion.
I’m in. Fuck it!

This is certainly interesting, I wonder if they showed John Baruck the door too.

Interesting.......all this might actually lead to something. Never really liked Azoff that much to be honest. Seems like he could do wonders with many other older acts, but it really appeared that Journey was always a back burner project for him IMO.

I don't know much about it (at all) but I'm happy, seems like a big shake up. I just want it to lead to new music.
Maybe previous management didn't see the need/support new music

Azoff was a great manager for any act. He will maximize the earnings of his artists. Releasing new music for Journey will not net many dollars so why would Azoff or Mercuriadis endorse or push this option on the band. A new album does not drive ticket sales either.
The band has to want to do it regardless of management.
