Deen Not Returning

Postby The_Noble_Cause » Sat Mar 07, 2020 8:08 am

From Deeno today:

"Ok my friends hopefully this puts the rumors to rest. I am not returning to Journey..
@TheDeadDaisies
2020
Now let’s all have a great year! Love you all."

Maybe Omar will return?

I think CAIN would be the roadblock and highly doubted Deen will ever be back. I hope Deen continues his sobriety.

All of Deen's tweets regarding this are now gone. Weird.

You know, I read that Sons of Apollo cancelled their European tour so Mike Portnoy and Billy Sheehan are suddenly not busy. :)

I don't think Cain would be a roadblock. If memory serves, he was the first to work with Deen after his fall.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I would think after some reflection, Deen took down those tweets so that it didn't appear he was meddling in the band's business. Although he kept his comments limited to his participation, I can see him not wanting to rock the boat.

Obviously that's complete speculation, and not worth more than the keyboard it's typed on.

What's Ricky Phillips doing this year? Get him and Deen.

Geddy has way too much dignity to get involved in this train wreck

Or, he was told to by one side or the other, or both, of the Journey lawsuit...and Deen is smart enough to not want to get involved in it.

What is Omar Hakim doing? He seems like a likely candidate.

IMO 3 of the drummers that make the most sense would be these 3 guys in no particular order....
Deen Castronovo
Omar Hakim
Prairie Prince

For bass it would be in no particular order....
Ricky Philips
Todd Jensen
Randy Jackson
Marco Mendoza

I also would be very happy with Marc Droubay as the drummer.

I also am aware that Ricky Philips is currently in Styx, and therefore is not likely.

Don’t rule out Brendan Buckley

What about TOTO's Shannon Forrest? Lives in Nashville, TOTO's on hiatus, plus the band recently hired Trev Lukather's friend for additional keys and vocals.
