Thats fantastic. JSS sounds so good in this, extremely talented vocalist and a real gentlemen.
I remember how engaging he was with all of us on the Journey boards when he joined which was so cool :)

JSS just posted this now on his Facebook. Coincidence? I think not.

Just another fine example of what could've/should've been and would foolishly wish for the future, but know it's not going to happen with Jeff being busy with his solo stuff, SOTO, and the well-received Sons of Apollo.

Sorry, but all this does is remind me of things like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjFf5FO3OQI&t=351s

where Perry blows me away. Even Perry stopped doing this when his voiced moved on from those incredible vocal acrobatics. This, "Winds of March" and "Patiently" do not have an equal in JSS, or anybody else.

As for the idea that this is an example of what JSS would have brought to Journey, IMO, it just isn't true. Neal has been so against ballads that I doubt it would happen. He would have brought JSS in to do stuff more like what is on the WET first album, not stuff of of Infinity.

They also moved on from JSS for a reason. I think it was because of Arnel and the rerecordings they did. Even Dean mentioned they recorded demo versions of some of the hits with JSS and they went with Arnel anyway. So, he agreed Walmart wanted somebody with a voice closer to Steve Perry and that is why they went with Arnel. So, with JSS they may not have had the Wal-mart deal that sort of relaunch Journey.

It's all speculation with JSS, you don't know for sure how things would have gone. Nothing is guaranteed.

As previously posted......

There is no proof that a JSS Journey album wouldn't have featured ballads. The very first post-JSS album, Revelation, contained ballads. The only new Journey song JSS ever sang, Winds of Freedom, was a ballad. Even Soul Sirkus contained a Journey-esque Schon/Soto ballad, Coming Home.

What my intentions were when I made my post is that I'm fond of the range and energy he brought to the band -- implying that he could handle a wider range on the material to keep things interesting for the band as well as the fans. If anything I would think moving forward with him would have a semblance to "Believe In Me" -- go figure Neal used it in Never Walk Away. That's all I was getting at.

Something to revisit if you like.
