Journey Announcement on Monday

Postby The_Noble_Cause » Mon May 04, 2020 2:42 am

Sources on YouTube, including the idiotic Real Music Observer, are claiming that a press release will be released tomorrow (05/04/20). The primary source seems to be Neal's Instagram.

Tour cancellation? New tour members? George Tickner returning? Could be anything.

Given how sick and tired I am of the drama with this band, I'm hoping it is an announcement that they are splitting up forever with a permanent injunction against all members from ever playing these songs and pissing on the once great legacy of the band ever again.

I'm sick of every single person in this band and wish they'd all just disappear.

Sorry you feel that way. As a fan, I think the prospect of new music is sa reason to celebrate.

I haven't seen anything on his Instagram that would give that indication. Could be releasing the updated schedule of the tour, which of course would also mean naming the touring band. Or it could just be a bunch of bull hockey.

I took a look. Multiple times Neal stated that there's a press release coming today. He also told a fan that the delay is not because of him. I wonder if legal issues are holding things up, or maybe The Pretenders?

Tour is canceled. Really no word on what the future holds.

The whole world has been cancelled almost two months and these Clueless clowns wait until just 11 days before the first date to cancel. Idiots.

It is embarrassing how awful that website is. And for a band of Journey's stature and legacy. They have a link up for JonathanCain.com which doesn't even exist. They have a banner on the homepage that says the tour is "on sale now" and when you click on that, it takes you to a tour page with no explanation that the tour was cancelled. Sad.

From CJ to Lori Carpenter, the site has always been in need of an upgrade. It's just gotten worse and worse.

According to Neal on FB -

"mark my words ... the best has yet to come and we have Monster replacements in place and raring to go as soon as possible. We will be working on new album and show."

I doubt this very much. Bigfoot and Nessie seem to have lucrative tv deals and are constantly busy. I doubt Journey could afford them anyway.

Just my opinion, but I will not be surprised if Neal took JTT and filled in the bits for Journey...Marco Medoza on bass, and Deen on drums...which would explain why he took down his post about the opening. If not Deen, then Omar Hakim, who he has described as a "monster" in the past.

Not really. They are just generic nobody's who can be replaced with anybody.

It's the person running this sideshow that needs to improve.

Generic is a perfect word to describe Ross's playing.

It's the person running this sideshow that needs to improve.

If Neal was running the band, we would have had a new album already. If he was running the band, JTT would not have been blocked. According to the lawsuit, both Cain and Schon lost confidence in playing with Ross and Smitty. If you have proof that Neal is calling all the shots, let's hear it.

I don't know how any drummer can be better than the guy who is arguably the greatest drummer in history (Steve Smith)?

Castronovo and Hakim would be just about as great of replacements as possible. But Smith is still better. It would be awesome to have Deen's vocals back in the band though!

I still would have been way more excited about seeing JTT play songs from the first 3 Journey albums as well as other deep cuts from the Infinity through Departure albums than I will be seeing Journey play the same damn greatest hits package night after night. :(

How about somebody who is a great drummer and also wants to record music? If they can sing, like Deeno, even better. Neal made a comment online that Smith told him he was just in this for the money, which is what I said on this forum for quite a while. It was obvious.

There is no way Rolie would come back. He wasn't even interested in JTT in his last interview.
