Cain says "wait until you see what we did - epic!"

Interesting. I'm assuming it's just going to be a medley of the hits done over zoom or something.

Maybe the debut of the new rhythm section?

I’m hoping for something really cool but I’m expecting something else more vanilla or ordinary.

Sounds like MSNBC needs to hire Herbie to do some sound mixing.

I wasn’t impressed with the sound either.

Randy Jackson and Narada Walden on bass/drums. Like most of these 'at home' performances, it obviously wasn't live. Arnel sounded really unlike himself. Randy didn't even look like he was playing. Still it was cool to see.

I’m assuming that the other guy on keys is still Travis?

Is it tho? They could just be helping for this one-off.

No. Jason.

I almost named both of them as being the possible replacements.

Neal posted a picture of both of them recently, teasing the idea of them in the band. So it's not like the idea wasn't out there

If you believe the sewer that is Wikipedia, the new rhythm section is two no names that I’ve never heard of.

I'll check it out. Thnks.

EDIT: I checked. No new names are listed.

Given the shout out Arnel gave, it sounds real. And they've been the talk for a while. Guess Neal and Narada really hit it off on his solo record...

Schon has confirmed both just now. It’s official.

He said he was going to fix things and he has.

So ready for a new record!

I heard Arnel mention their names, but I did not hear him introduce them as new members. Either way, Neal has now confirmed that they are the new lineup. That's really incredible. The easy route would have been getting some studio players out of Nashville. This is huge and awesome news.

I hadn't heard that rumor or seen/heard about the photo. I just figured that they were logical choices.

Jonathan Cain just spooks me out these days.

Not too enthused about the line up additions/replacements either. But good luck to them. I'm sure there's an audience out there and that the millions will continue to roll in... in a few years time, when the dust has settled.

Thanks. Anyone else notice Jon is wearing a bathrobe? He also tries to make an announcement at the end, but is muted. I think it's also interesting that Jason was on camera. Travis was kept mostly in the shadows. Maybe Jason will be more of a prominent member.

Wow, this was very, very lame. I felt like I was watching some kinda SNL parody.

I thought it was pretty equivalent to most Zoom performances that are edited together. Even if it was an amazing performance, you would be on here bitching and complaining about it anyway.

Are they really playing or just pretending?
Arnel looks 20-ish again and Jon looks like a scraggly old man !
I've seen a lot better zoom performances by other bands than this … lol.

Not positive but I think Jason's vocal chops are really solid and might be relied on a little more. May be why he could be more visible.
