Part of my lack of enthusiasm is probably because of how I feel about Traces to begin with.

Probably the exact sketches that he had on hand for years before polishing them up for the LP release. Today he released No Erasin' as the gratitude track for those who preordered. Just his vocals and acoustic guitar. Pretty cool actually.
You're listening to the sketch form of the song. More of a behind the scenes rather than a new album. As an artist myself, I like and respect this concept. The vocals do shine much more in this format too.

If it's the same vocals from the final studio release, how is that a sketch? The rough demo vovals would be noticeably different.

Just think of it as layers. It’s the final vocal recording with the basic bare-bones instruments that he used to record them with. Everything else was most likely built on top to polish it off for the final version. Maybe sketch isn’t the right word, I don’t know. I haven’t heard all of the other tracks to determine if sketch is the right word or not. I find them interesting to listen to. If you want to check them out, check them out. If you don’t, you don’t.

Can't he do six shows on the West Coast and then rest for a month and do six shows on the East Coast and rest for a month and do six shows in the Midwest and then rest for a month and do six shows in South? The tour would be drawn out and weird, but it would be something. I am not holding my breath on any of this.

Perry was smart to record Silver Bells. Now, they can play it at stores every year at this time for the rest of our lives, and beyond.
JourneyHard wrote:They also play No Erasin' a lot at the store. So, Perry should wait until November & December 2021 and tag along on somebody else's tour. Then Perry can come out at the end of the concert and perform Girl Can't Help It, Silver Bells, and No Erasin'. Three songs shouldn't be too hard on his body!
