Not going to jump to conclusions. Hoping he is still on the path of sobriety.

Yeah I’m
Hoping it’s not that and it’s something else. Narada is locked in so I can’t imagine he’s out and Deen back. Maybe Deen asked for the limos like when he was with Ozzy? Lol.

I could see either Narada or Randy just contributing to the album and then being replaced for touring purposes - but I hope not. I'm a big Deen fan too.

LOL. Who knows? He seems to always land on his feet either way.

The problem is back issues, which Deen has had a hard time addressing due to COVID.

Thanks for that . That is good news in a way. I had a feeling that’s what it was and texted someone . Drummers just get beat up bad.

Ironically, I've heard Neal mention that Narada (and maybe Randy) started out more as a touring hire but COVID left them the opportunity to record.

He said that about both of them.

I think Narada said he was asked to sit in for The Pretenders tour. Then with all the down-time, Neal and Narada started working on new Journey music together.

In a separate Neal interview, Neal said they asked Randy back first and asked Randy who did he want on drums. Then Randy requested Narada.

Who knows? I'm just glad Neal and Narada struck a chord and are giving new Journey music to the fans!

Hi All!
As some of you may have heard, I have officially left The Dead Daisies. My decision to leave was not an easy one as I have great respect for my former band members and a tremendous amount of love and appreciation for all the fans who supported us. This decision will ultimately give me time to spend with my family after touring extensively and schedule a minor back surgery to ensure that I am able get back on the road playing music and doing what I love! Rest assured I will be back and playing soon! I love you all. Stay healthy, stay safe and look for great things to come in the future!
Stay tuned!

Despite the explanation, his departure seens abrupt. Couldn't they (Deen + Daisies) have released a joint statement?

After touring extensively? Hasn’t the entire touring world been at a standstill since last March?

It doesn't add up. Most musicians are grateful to have any touring dates lined up. Of course, fans are speculating that he will return to Journey, but I just can't see it.

I could see him returning to Journey some time down the road, but I don't think that it's going to happen any sooner than 2022, if not later?

Really wish Deen the best, no matter the circumstances. The two "statements" don't really align, but ultimately he's doing what's best for him and his family.

The Rock world is a better place when Deen is off the sidelines.

I love Deen and what he did with Journey but I hope for his sake that he’s not coming back. I don’t think the drama and touring grind did him and his health any favors over the years.

Herbie always said that Deen was underutilized in the band. Even with Arnel on-board, they should have showcased him singing 1-2 songs per album. As for his place in the band as it currently exists now? I'd welcome him back, but am more excited to see/hear Narada play.
