New Record Label Announced

A few highlights from 07/31/21 radio interview (paraphrased below)....

"Narada and Deen right now sound like a Mack truck. They are still experimenting right now."

"Randy had previous engagements. The band wasn't really expected to tour til mid 2022."

"The band has signed with BMG for the new album"

Santana has also just signed to the same label.

Signing to a record label really surprises me, especially a bigger label like BMG. I always got the impression from Neal and Jon that they were done with labels and dealing with the bullshit that comes with it.

Thought this Twitter post was interesting last night, regarding leaving Live Nation for AEG. You have to read some of the comments to get the full context.

I hope there is more to his beef with Live Nation than just that childish complaint about not getting a spotlight. As much as I hate Live Nation, most of the venues out there seem to be Live Nation venues so I’m not sure leaving for AEG is really the best idea.

Neal needs to stop picking petty bullshit fights. Based on that photo, I don't see a spotlight reaching Jon's far side of the stage either. 2 shows in and we are claiming there is a dark sinister anti-Neal plot afoot? Even with the new lineup and new management team? C'mon....

Every week he is going to war with somebody else: Cain, Twitter "hackers", Azoff, Live Nation security, and now, Live Nation lighting.

Not sure if this is Michaele's strategy for quick TMZ-type clicks (similar to crashing the White House) or Neal is just a paranoid individual.

Don't get me wrong - some of his battles ARE justified (ex. Cain, Ross, and Smitty not wanting to record) but alot of it just seems loony.

The other day on FB, a fan posted a photo from the Hulu livestream and Neal gave the fan a middle finger emoji and accused him of photoshop. He then blocked the fan.

I'm a huge fan, but I'm sorry, this is just straight up crazy shit.

Give Neal enough time and he’ll find something with AEG and Q Prime to bitch and moan about too. I’m a huge fan as well but he’s a narcissist in the worst way.

Maybe so, but he didn't became social media dependent until Michaele. Imagine playing one of the largest festivals in the world and then complaining about a lack of visibility. Just completely tone deaf.

If fans couldn't see him, fans would have been bitching 1 or 2 songs into the Lollapalooza set.

When the post first hit, I honestly thought he was joking around regarding the photo. Then once I read the comments and some of his replies, I actually was taken back with "wow, he's serious".

You've just come off the best and only real positive PR for the band in years. And you're complaining about not having a spotlight on you. As you noted, I gotta think M plays into this. I have zero information to back that up, other than gut.

My next question is, are they really leaving Live Nation for AEG or is this just Neal talking out of his ass and running mouth on his own again.

This was another seemingly bullshit tabloid case that went nowhere. If you read the documents, Neal & Michaele didn't even file a motion for discovery.

How can you claim security footage showing your wife being assaulted was deceptively edited (something easily provable with video forensics), but then not file for discovery?????

Another thing....the security firm was an independent contactor. How do you pin the actions of ONE cowboy security guard on all of Live Nation? C'mon.
And because of this, he doesn't have a spotlight at Lollapalooza?

This sham lawsuit did result in headlines on websites like TMZ - which was prolly the entire point to begin with.

Cain could start speaking in tongues and shaking rattlers on stage and still have more basic common sense than Neal (barely).

My position on the NS/JC dynamic, especially after Chicago, is simply this: Neal seems to be the creative engine of the band but Jon seems to be the brakes, traction control, and turn signal. Jon's the one who understands all the cues and timing and set list. Neal missed his own goddamn solo on stage and Jon had to remind him. Jon's also the one keeping an eye on everyone.

Neal definitely has some weird paranoid delusion type tendencies. A while back, maybe about 2 or so years ago, there was some incident regarding Metallica and ticket prices. Neal had something to say about it, and I chimed in on the discussion. Neal went apeshit and accused me of spying on him and that I was working for Metallica and blocked me from his Facebook page. I got a good laugh out of it. Dude legitimately might benefit from seeing a shrink.

Sorry. I did not mean for it to sound like you have a personal opinion either way on this. I just find the whole thing strange.

As mentioned in the original post, Neal mentioned it during a radio interview. I know you want to portray Neal as some sort of false soothsayer, but the only person with a string of failed predictions (Eclipse is the last album, the band will be tied up in court for years, the band will never be on another major label) is YOU.

So, the answer is no real announcement has been made. In addition, you admit that Neal is just predicting stuff. They are not signed to anybody. Also, BMG is still not a major label. Sony, Warner, and Universal are the only majors left.

Define a "real" announcement? The addition of Narada was announced by Neal via social media. And now he is there on-stage playing. Playing Lollapalooza was announced by Neal and that also happened.

Never said this at all.

Riiiiiight. Because Santana and Bryan Adam all sign with bargain basement labels.

I asked a simple question, if anybody besides Neal has announced Journey signing to BMG. That's a legitimate question...yeah, with a snarky comment about Neal....but still, a legitimate question.

All TNC, or you, or anybody else, had to do was say, "No". Instead TNC goes on about comments I made from 10yrs or more ago, and I replied back...ignoring most of it.

So, why are you coming down solely on me when there are others involved in these conversations and frankly I am holding back on replying to most of the pure shit that is thrown my way?

Bro, as someone who's also got a reputation for being prickly and critical, you've gone full curmudgeon. If we had footage of Neal putting on his socks, you'd bitch at him for not starting with the right.
