Apparently Starship (Mickey Thomas) recently released an album re-recording their hits. They also threw in a couple of covers including DSB. I guess this is actually from a Greatest Hits release from 2010. For anyone who ever questioned the idea of Journey hiring Mickey to replace Perry in the 80s, listen to this.

You don't need permission to record a cover tune. Just pay the publishing due.

There was an album of different artists covering Journey tunes. In addition to Mickey, I believe Bobby Kimball was on it. This is prolly from the same album - and not really a recent Starship release.

Unless it is on video...then they need synch rights...but if it is only audio they only have to pay the fees.
