Thanks for sharing. Looks like the album is called "Freedom" - which, of course, was the intended title of ROR, before Perry changed it. Rarely get a chance to see TOTO in an arena setting. I will definitely be there.

I’m eyeing that Cleveland date. 4.5 hours from me, never been to rock hall and it’s a Saturday.

P.S. Hi Monker.

Saw them in an arena setting once with Yes. Really can't wait for this one. As you said, I'll be there.

I find it interesting that they are being billed as just "Toto" - I thought that was what all of the brouhaha was about - and why they came up with the whole "Dogs of Oz" thing. Interesting.

It was always "Toto - Dog of Oz." They considered just going out as dogs, but never did. Even their live stream was billed as Toto.

FYI:

"Billy Idol will join the Freedom Tour from Feb. 22 through April 5 while Toto will perform April 7 through May 11."

I'm hoping they add a date or two in the Buffalo/Rochester area when they announce the other 40 dates, the closest for me right now is Pittsburgh or Albany and I'm not driving 4 hours.

Nice to see the official date listings! On our local classic rock station this weekend they mentioned winning Journey tickets for when they come to Vivint Arena in March, so I figured the actual dates would be announced soon. Also pretty awesome they are rolling with the "Freedom" title finally!! It'll be a pretty big troll on their part if they end up calling the album something else at this point.

Does anyone know what the ticket prices are for the Cleveland show, or for most of the shows in general?

Neal or somebody connected with Journey reads this board because I told them to do a concert at the new Little Caesars Arena in Detroit and presto they schedule it for March 2nd! WOW! I have never been to the new arena so this gives me a good excuse to try the place out.

If the new album is called Freedom, I wonder if they will include Liberty as one of the songs.

If they have a double album worth of new material, they won't be playing a rare unreleased b-side like Liberty.

I wonder if Journey can move the Detroit date from March 2nd to March 3rd. I looked it up and there are no Red Wings or Pistons games scheduled for March 3rd. March 2nd is Ash Wednesday which means one/fourth of your potential audience will not be able to make it or they will go and NOT buy any beer or any food for the show. (Catholics are one-fourth of Detroit area.)
Is there another band playing on March 3rd? Or you could move the Detroit show to May... any date you want. Pistons and Red Wings aren't making the playoffs.

I bet Journey is dedicating their new album and tour to Herbie Herbert. So, they are calling it Freedom in honor of Herbie Herbert. It is a very touching move by the band.

Yeah - I understood that - I just thought the deal was that if they were billed as simply "Toto" - they paid the she-devil. Maybe I misunderstood the lawsuit.

It probably had nothing to do with you. AEG has a limited number of venues and that is one of them.

I do not own a smart phone. I have a flip phone and a land-line.

These days so many venues are doing paperless tickets only. I haven't ordered tickets from Ticket Master in a few years.

Do any of you know if Journey tickets will only be available with a smart phone being scanned at the venues? Or do you think that there are other ways of getting tickets?

I will (Hopefully) be going to the Journey show in Cleveland at Rocket Mortgage Field House on May 7th. I don't know if all of the venues handle their tickets the same, or if they are different at a lot of different venues?

I'd appreciate any advice that any of you might have in regards to tickets to the Journey concert!

Do you have a computer and printer? I do tickets on my smart phone, but sometimes print out a hard copy as well.

Luke and Dave own the name. Even with her getting a cut, they stand to make money going out as TOTO. Here's a previous explanation from Luke -

"Trust me .. we have new bad ass musicians and we are keeping the spirit of the music alive. Its NOT Toto 1978-1982-1990-2002 or 2019. But after 45 years on the road 44 with Toto.. as Paich and I paid a fortune for the % of the name we get to keep.. Paich said USE the name as did promoters and agents etc.. I am the thread between it all and we are keeping the LEGACY of Toto alive.

There are lots of cover bands. Why should Joe and I not be allowed to use the name and make some $. I am 63 years old and going on the road cheap doing just solo material makes no sense for us. We will play The Toto big hits, deep cuts AND new solo stuff from Joe and I for a interesting set list, fresh and with insane great new musicians that are hungry to do it."

I have a computer, but I don't have a working printer. I can always ask my brother or a friend of mine to print something out for me. A friend of mine and myself went to an Indians game back in September and he had to order the tickets because he has a smart phone and the Indians only do tickets by smart phone scan anymore.

None of my friends want to go to the Journey concert strictly because the prices are too high. They like/love Journey, but they won't pay those prices for a ticket.

Got 16th row center aisle just now for $145. That's a lot of money... but not terrible for good concert tix these days, really.

Thanks for the info!

I'll probably go with one of the cheaper seats.

I've been first and second row a couple of times for Journey, but that was when tickets were a lot cheaper when they were doing county fairs.

I got tickets, but I don't even know if I like Billy Idol enough to sit through his part of the show. And will Journey perform for 90 minutes or their usual 70 minutes? If it is just 70 minutes, we will get only the dirty dozen plus a couple new songs. If they release a double album, they need to do SIX songs off the new album. They have so much new material that they cannot get away with just playing two new songs.

They did play 4 songs off Revelation most nights on the Revelation tour. That’s the most we can probably hope for.

Looks like we'll be seeing them twice. In St Louis (hometown) with Idol, and then traveling a few hours down the road to Nashville to see them with Toto. Works out well.
