Listened to Frontiers tonight!

Hi folks, it's been a while!

I was thinking about this site earlier tonight; I've recently picked up a nasty vinyl record habit and since I haven't heard the Journey record "Frontiers" on vinyl in about 38 years or so, I found a copy of it in a vintage record shop and was playing it tonight. What a great album. I admit I haven't listened to Journey much in the past 10 years or so but when I listen to this record it does remind me that there was a time where it was 5 guys working together to make an incredible follow up to such a landmark record as "Escape" and it was the whole "brothers to the end" approach to making an album. I don't think Journey itself, as a band, is recognizable to most people these days but that just goes to show that it was the songs all along, and more importantly the chemistry among the songwriters that made that moment in time special. Anyway cheers to all, happy to see a few of you old timers still kicking around here, haha. Take care homies.

Oh yeah, and congrats to Andrew for keeping this site around for so many years! I remember he was an early champion of the "Elemental" project I worked on back in 2001ish or so and it's crazy to see the site still going strong. I'm sure there were many times when the easiest thing to do would have been to throw in the towel but congrats to you Andrew for this institution of melodic rock.

Thanks Jeremey - good to hear from you and appreciate the comments. I lost my sanity, but hey...I've still got the site :)

Does anyone still have what we considered our “sanity” from 20 years ago? :D Congrats brother you are an institution!

Thanks buddy, yes it is quite the rabbit hole haha. This week I picked up the unbelievably brilliant new Ghost release “IMPERA” and the 2020 remaster release of “Sign O the Times” which has never sounded so damned good. I guess I have about 50 LPs at this point but I don’t go running out to buy every new record I can think of, I am hoping to keep the collection small. Frontiers is the only Journey LP I own and it will probably stay that way unless Freedom is incredible. I would like to track down a great copy of “Street Talk” someday, I believe that is produced incredibly well and is a demo-quality LP. Oh I also overspent on the 7 LP Live box set of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers which I’ve been enjoying on digital for years at this point. It all sounds amazing!

Take care!
