Journey Football Hall Of Fame Concert

Every August there is a festival held in Canton Ohio for the HOF induction ceremonies.

They always have bands perform at the festival. It was Survivor that headlined the festival one year.

This August 2022 it will be Journey headlining the festival.

I just saw the report on TV here in Cleveland.

I don't know many details yet.

If anyone else finds out more details, please list them here!

I will be seeing Journey in Cleveland in May as part of the Freedom tour. Now I may see them again in August in Canton? But if I'm disappointed with the show in May, I will probably skip the August show.

Journey had better do more than the Dirty Dozen in May. I want songs from the Freedom album and deep cuts from the past. Especially some Rockers!

I hope this wont be a watered down setlist like the rodeo show in Houston earlier this year. It starts at 8pm and the website says till 1030pm. Freedom will be out in July and hope they play cuts from it but am seriously doubting it. But I loved the Cleveland and Columbus Ohio shows. If they slipped in "Edge Of The Blade" I would be in heaven! Cheers!

I know, I'm afraid of that possibility myself, that they will do as you say a "watered down" show. I have not yet gotten a ticket for that show. I run the risk of it being sold out if I don't get a ticket soon.

I'm still not sure if I will go, and I despise missing Journey shows that are within easy driving distance of me?!?!

Do you have any idea if there will be an opening band at the Canton FHOF show?

I'd love to see/hear them do Edge Of The Blade too!

I only meant "watered down" as a dirty dozen setlist with this being Hall Of Fame weekend in Canton and a earlier curfew stated on the website announcing the concert. Still if they hit the stage at 9pm (after tba opening act) they got an hour and half to play. About the same as the Cleveland show minus about 15 20 minutes. Just hoping to hear some new stuff plus different deep cuts (edge of the blade). As for opening act haven't heard anything but i'm assuming will be something local. Post here if you get word on that as will I.

That's what I thought that you meant by watered down, that it might be only the dirty dozen with no new songs or deep cuts. That's what I'm afraid of too.

I'll post it on here if I hear anything about an opening band or any other new info.

Hope you enjoy the show!

I wanted to go, but I didn't want to spend the money for the ticket, burn up a lot of gasoline on the drive, and fight through heavy traffic.

Plus, none of my friends were willing to pay for a ticket for themselves, and I'm sick of going to concerts by myself. A lot of my friends used to go to concerts with me in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s, but it's rare to get any of them to go to a concert over the last ten years or more.

Also, I'm afraid that it will be strictly a Dirty Dozen show with no deep cuts or songs from the new album.

Does anyone know what Journey's set list was for the Football Hall Of Fame concert in Canton?

Set was a almost the same as Cleveland. Added "LIR" but took out "ygtbom" and Deen singing "mother, father. Still a great show and seeing a 79 year old Donnie Iris rocking a 30 minute set to open was impressive to me. Hot night summer night indeed. Sadly I thought "LIR" was the weakest song of the night. I love it on the album but Neal's guitar sound was awful and wasn't shall I say "beefy" , very thin on that song. Especially on the solo part at the end. (sorry Neal).Wished they would have played a different track from Freedom if they were only gonna play only one off of it.Other than that the guys were top notch all night. I enjoyed the show.

Let It Rain is one that I would have loved to have heard them play live.

To be honest, I thought that there was no way that they would play it at that show.
