I like it! I was curious what these guys were going to sound like with original material and it didn't let me down. Looking forward to the album! Its mixed a helluva lot better than Journey's new offerings, no doubt.

Thank you for posting that! I knew that Andrew said that it would be right around this time of August that it would be coming out, but I forgot about it.

Today is also the release day for Jimi Jamison's previously unreleased "Rock Hard" solo album that was recorded in 1989.

It’s better than Freedom.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

I love Deen's drumming and singing, and I expect to like the Generation Radio album. Although with there being a member of a Country band playing on the album that concerns me. But I will be shocked beyond all words if I wind up thinking that it's as good much less better than Freedom. I'm expecting to not like Generation Radio as well as I like Revolution Saints. And I don't like Revolution Saints as well as I like Freedom.

The Cd is a bit on the subdued side ,Dean arguably has the best song and the worst song on the cd (he only sings lead on 2 songs). The cd as a whole leans toward the country/pop genre despite having Dean and Jason in the band. It's a decent cd but nothing like what I expected.

Yeah, I still haven't heard any of the songs yet, but I was afraid that it was going to be on the Country side. That's a big part of why I have expected that I will still like Revolution Saints a lot better.

I'm not hearing much of the country in this album. A couple of the slower songs sound like the could have been Chicago songs in the mid 1980s. Jay DeMarcus from Rascal Flatts produced Chicago XXX and did an outstanding job on that album and I'm sure he is responsible for the spotless production on this album. I think it's a very good light Melodic Rock album.

Production is good (except for that annoying cracking /popping in the first 45 seconds of the first song). If you like that country/ pop style this album is at least half that ,it has a smooth sound but to me sounds a bit generic.

Definitely feel like some of these tunes would fit right in on a modern country playlist.

I feel like they would only fit because modern country still has some melodic rock feel.

I think its a pretty good album actually been listening to it the last few days. I don't mind the few country sounding songs. I agree the production is top notch.

Angels (all three trade off on this one)- good song

Time to let it go (didn't care for this one) sings lead
Lights go out in Paradise(arguably the best song on the cd) sings lead

Yep, very formulaic ,it actually sounds to me a bit like the American idol stuff that used to come out when someone wins(its not bad, its just very familiar almost like deja vu).

I think he also sings the chorus in this one.

Not sure on the other one, might be a song called Smoking.

I'm actually preferring these songs to Freedom. The melodies are catchier and and the production is so far superior, it makes them more listenable. Deen sounds so good too. If Arnel ever decides he's done, Deen could and should just sing lead for Journey.

The music is good and Deen sounds great but it's a little too over produced for my taste.

I finally got to hear the album last weekend.

I really like "Why Are You Calling Me Now" "Time To Let It Go" "Lights Go Out In Paradise" and "Smoking." They largely sound like Melodic Rock as opposed to Country.

The more Country sounding songs I don't care for so much. I don't hate those songs, but they're nowhere nearly as good as the other songs that I named. I just don't enjoy hickish sounding signing, and the more Country the music sounds, the less enjoyable the music is to me. Most of that type of music bores me.
