In the new Journey song "Don't Give Up On Us," it sounds like Arnel is singing, "I am gonna find a bird." However, when I look up the lyrics online every lyric site says the line is "I am gonna find some burns" which makes less sense than my misheard lyric. Perhaps the guy doesn't want to be lonely and is worried she will leave him, and so he gets a bird to keep him company.
The real lyric is "We'll find the fire that still burns."
How did every site on the internet get this wrong? All they had to do was look it up in the little book that comes with the CD.
I know what happened. One guy said, "I ain't buying this crap album. I will listen to all the songs off of youtube and write down the lyrics." Then he got the lyrics wrong and every other lazy guy took his totally wrong lyrics and put them on their lyrics site.
Come on, man. It is so easy to get the correct lyrics. Just buy the CD.

I'm pretty sure that he is saying "I'm gonna Find some burns" even though the lyrics sheet says differently.

The lyrics sheet that is listed inside of the Eclipse album was loaded with incorrect lyrics.

I heard "I'm gonna find some worms" the first time I heard it but figured it was really "I'm gonna find some words".

What does "I am gonna find some burns" mean? In slang, does it mean he is going to find some insults about the woman he wants to stay with? But if she leaves him, I have to have "burns" ready.


"I am gonna find some words" makes more sense. Maybe he is trying to find the right words to convince her to stay with him.

Yeah that's what I thought, especially with the next line being -

"I need to say it face to face
My love for you will never change"

Like saying the words he needs to find to make her stay and saying them to her face. Makes sense to me.

I had assumed that by saying "I'm Gonna Find Some Burns" that he was saying that he's been burned by love?
I will say that if that's what was said that it is a bit of a contradiction of some of the other lyrics in the song.

But, then again, some of the other lyrics appear to be "Trying To Outrun Each Other Now We're Miles Apart" and "There Is No Way Back For Us Baby" which kind of sounds like he is giving up on their relationship?

And at the beginning of the song he says "You Saw It Your Way And I Was Always Right," which again would suggest that they have clearly argued a lot, which could also suggest that he's been burned by love?
