I love both Journey and Tallica, so I'm hoping there might be a studio collaboration sometime in the future since Neal mentioned on FB something along the lines of they'd probably be playing together again. Kirk released his first solo instrumental EP earlier this year that was pretty damn good!! Hopefully this could turn into something!

If Journey and Metallica toured together who would be the headliner?

If Metallica went on first would Metallica fans leave the show after Metallica finished their set?

If Metallica fans stuck around for Journey they might be surprised to see/hear how much Journey do ROCK at times? But I can picture a lot of them leaving after Metallica finished their set.

I do not think this show is feasible. And no matter how big Journey is today I cannot see them following Metallica….

While I love Journey, I completely agree. Tallica has been a well oiled touring juggernaut for years and years now, with the fanbase of both hardcore and casual fans always showing up in massive droves filling stadiums all over the world. It would definitely be kind of like Perry said of the Journey shows with the Stones back in '81....the crowd was putting up with us, but they were really just waiting for Mick and the guys to take the stage. Maybe not QUITE as much of a disparity as that example since both Tallica and Journey are time tested legends of the music industry now, but I just can't see any situation where Tallica wouldn't close any show where they appear on the marquee at this point.

Metallica would be the headliner and it’s not even a close call. Hell, Journey opens for Def Leppard and they’re nowhere near as big as Metallica is. Every album Metallica has released since 1991 has debuted at #1 on the billboard 200, and they continue to pack stadiums around the world.

Journey could tour with Metallica, but I don't know when this would happen. 2026?

It would have to be Journey through Time with Gregg Rolie. And their set list would have to be songs from Journey, Look into the Future, Next, and songs like Edge of the Blade and Lay It Down from Perry era. If they did that, they should get mad respect from Metallica fans. Hell. They would get mad respect from hardcore Journey fans.

Journey should do a cover of Stairway to Heaven and Hammett could be part of it and at the end have a five-minute jam where it gets heavier and heavier to the point of sounding like Metallica. Stairway to Heaven ends too soon. It was just getting good.
