Artificial Intelligence has gotten so good that somebody could make a fake Journey song with the vocals sounding EXACTLY like Steve Perry and the guitar sounding EXACTLY like Neal Schon. They can use algorithms to write the lyrics and the music to make it sound EXACTLY like Journey songs from the late 1970s or early 1980s. Then they can send it to every radio station in the country which would play the hell out of it. It is a new Journey song with Steve Perry on it. Yes. They would play it.
Before Perry or Schon could sue anybody, everybody in the country heard the song and demand to hear it at every future Journey concert. We live in a crazy new world.

When Drake wins his lawsuits, nobody will play any of that. AI is the new frontier. Lawsuits over AI is the newer frontier.

New new frontiers, barbarians play away away away. Play.

The new version of Separate Ways which was featured in Stranger Things could have been artificial intelligence. Steve Perry said he didn't think it was possible to change the song that way. Didn't Neal, Jon, and of course Perry sign off on that project? That could be our very first fake Journey song, and it was endorsed by all the parties.

Watch out. Steve Perry might release a new solo album where his voice sounds like back in the early 1980's. If so, then Perry is using artificial intelligence.

This is simply not true. There was an extensive interview with the people who made this version. Perr'y's isolated vocals for Separate Ways do not exist. So, the guys who made this version isolated Perry's vocals from the existing song and used that. Perry was amazed that the technology exists to do that so he was intrigued and asked to be more involved in the production of the song, which they agreed to do. So, the vocals were not new, not computer generated, but the original vocals from the original song...they used those, and remixed it into the current version of the song. At the end, Perry joked and ask the guys what song they wanted to do next. It seems he had fun doing it...reimagining the song with his original vocals.

I doubt very much that Perry would attempt to do anything like this....even for more Christmas songs.
