Marco is posting pics of him, Rolie, Deeno, and Neal touting "coming soon."

Wonder if JTT is reuniting with JRNY official on break.

I think I'd be more excited to hear some music from them but either way I really hope we get something

It would be awesome if they do release some new music or at least tour!

If you don't want to wait around for a JTT album, go buy Extreme "Six". What an incredible album...I'm shocked at how good it really is. Gary Cherone got a bad rep for Van Halen III but wow he sounds good here. He reminds me a bit of Roger Daltry in his prime. I'm truly blown away by this album.

But good to see that Schon and Mendoza appear to have been able to patch things up.

Renders JTT absolutely pointless imo.

I agree. Hearing Schon and Rolie doing Journey songs we otherwise aren’t likely to hear is the whole deal.

I’d still want to go to be honest, I’d be happy to hear songs I’ve never heard live before with Schon playing. Anything and everything from Trial By Fire please

JTT dates listed on the official Journey site. Have to click on the link to see that it's JTT and not official JRNY.

Yeah, Jonathan has to control EVERYTHING.

I still think that if Neal had his way, THIS is what Journey would be, but with Gregg.

Look at the tracklist for the new JTT release. Deen sings the absolute lion's share of the songs, so not having Rolie participate is not that big of a deal. The draw here is hearing them play the lesser known songs and with Deen doing such a great job singing them. I'd rather go see JTT than JRNY any day :)

The draw was WHO was playing / singing these songs, and that was Journey founder Gregg. Without him there, this is just Neal using the Journey name to make money on the road when the real Journey is on break.

Again, you just have to look at the track list. Deen sings the vast majority of the songs, not Gregg. Not a matter of opinion, but a fact.

Ideally, Rolie would stay onboard, but his exclusion will not keep them stranded musically.

Nobody is debating that Deen sings more material. Of course he does. Nobody expects Gregg, a baritone, to be singing high tenor Perry vocals. I said the appeal was both who was singing AND PLAYING. In case I am not being clear, I mean watching Gregg on Hammond B3, playing the songs he originated. This project has lost a reason to exist imo.

To me, JTT even without Gregg Rolie is still very much worth seeing. With JTT we still get to see/hear a lot of Journey deep cuts being performed, which we rarely get with official Journey anymore. And with JTT we still get the great musicianship of Schon, Castronovo, and Mendoza.

With that said, the shows not having Rolie both sing AND playing keyboards is a major letdown. Even if they had a singer who was a complete soundalike for Rolie, I would still hate missing out on his keyboard playing, particularly on the Hammond B3.

Although, I was disappointed that the other keyboardist with JTT was playing so much of the keyboards at that live show that they just released on Blu/ray. I wondered why Rolie wasn't playing a lot of the parts that went to the other guy?

Zero interest in JTT if Gregg is not involved. Pointless.

Looks like plans have changed and he is going out just under Neal Schon now

I don’t mind, still really hope he comes to a few more places in Europe, I’ll make the trip if there’s some deep cuts

Gregg evidently isn't interested in playing those shredding synth parts from the preperry material, or can't play them at this point, and definitely wasn't interested in learning / playing Cain's parts.

He obviously got in trouble with Nightmare, or something similar. The dates are no longer on the link TNC posted, either.

The issue is that without Gregg bringing some authenticity to the old songs, it is just the Neal Schon Band performing Journey songs...that deflates the entire premise of the band. Also, Deen may have a great voice. But, it is NOT a front-man quality like Arnel/Perry/ Augeri, JSS, etc. If he wants to be a lead singer, he should drop the drums, and get a voice coach and train his voice professionally. If he has done voice training, it hasn't shown. At least not to me. One or two songs per concert, OK...an entire concert of Deen singing Journey is not something I care much about.

Agree about Deen.

As far as JTT being Journey nostalgia, I've seen Phil Collins do Genesis songs, Steve perry do Journey songs, and the list goes on. There is appeal to Neal doing a whole set list, past and present. Gregg obviously takes it up many notches. I'm just saying that without him, there is still value. It depends on how good it is.

I don't mind Rolie at all but he's only singing a few songs on this release and there are many fine Hammond B3 players out there who would be able to take his place. It may not be as authentic if he's no longer part of the band, but musically it won't affect them too much. I actually prefer Deen to Arnel. I feel he's closer to the Perry spirit and it's nice to hear the lyrics sung without a foreign accent. He delivers big time on this album, knowing the Perry-isms by heart, but also changing things up tastefully here and there.

Gotta say if Gregg ain’t playing then I am very glad they are touring just as Neal Schon. JTT was about celebrating the history WITH the founding members!

I always looked at this as Neal's own Journey thru time project. So awesome that Gregg was on the first run of this band for the shows they did a few years back. If it was about the founding members wasn't everything all cool with Ross Valory back when the blu ray recording was done? He should have been there as well instead of Marco if this was about the founding members. I'm not dissing on Marco btw I like him on the recording. Just saying. Cheers!
