Here are a few interesting websites that list Journey's album sales and where songs charted.

Sorry, but the commentary in this one is nothing but a Steve Perry = Journey promotion. Steve Perry does not = Journey any more than Neal Schon does. He calls Infinity their "breakthrough" album, when it was really Escape. Prior to that, they had about as much chart success as the Babys did, maybe less.

I don't know where this one is getting its numbers...but Arrival at 35,000 is ridiculous. It needs another '0'.

Again, not sure how accurate it is..."Anything Is Possible" charted at #20 on AC? Nothing else from Eclipse did? It just doesn't seem correct...maybe it is but it doesn't seem right. The older stuff seems to come from Billboard so it seems accurate.

I would say 'Infinity' did break them into the actual charts from where they were before...where 'Escape' was the one that blew up huge and made them the biggest band.

Weren't they already headlining before 'Escape'?

Infinity was definitely their breakthrough album, because it brought them to a much larger stage, so to speak.

They headlined a huge tour and were getting TV exposure (PBS Soundstage, Midnight Special) because of it.

Escape brought them to a new level, yes. But that wouldn't have happened without Infinity.

That's what I was thinking. There's a difference between "breakthrough" and "blow up".
