Per new Jonathan interview (7:35).
"And then, we're gonna try to put out a new single. And see if we can get that goin on. It's a song that I wrote for our fans."https://kgor.iheart.com/featured/lucy-c ... f-journey/

That's Lucy Chapman of KGOR here in Omaha. I'll be at the concert tomorrow night, I believe it's their first show after a break. It's nice to here Arnel has got his family with him for this tour.

Attended the Journey show in Omaha monday night. Great show. I just want to say regarding lip synching. If the Arnel-fronted Journey would ever resort to lipping at a concert, they would have to totally change the show. Arnel changes things up, points the microphone to the audience at different times, says "C'mon!", etcetera. He'd have to stand behind the microphone and stay to the script.
This was the first show after a break, and Arnel sounded great. Hit all the high notes. By the end of the show I get the impression that the crowd loves him. With his smile and his energy, he really gives it all. What a workout

I thought that was going to be the end of new music, so this is exciting
A big chorus song please, no muddy mix

I think that after Freedom was released that Cain said that the band will occasionally release new singles? So there should be another single every now and then.

More on new single.
https://woub.org/2024/04/17/journeys-jo ... -all-time/Q: Going off that, what motivates you, as a creative to keep touring and even making new music with Journey?
Cain: Yeah, I just wrote a new song.
Q: Oh, really?
Cain: It’s a new song I wrote for the fans. We’re hoping to get a single out and it’s very cool, kind of modern for us. Hopefully, we can get that off the ground. But it’s the fans, it’s the love affair with them and their commitment to us. You can’t help but be committed back to them. You see we’re packing ’em to the rafters in Biloxi and Lubbock, Texas, in these little places. It’s like, ‘are you kidding?’ Yep. Sold out and there it is. ‘So why do you keep doing it?’ ‘Because you’re still relevant and they’re still loving you.’ And when you can’t sell it out, that’s when you know it’s time to hang it up. So as long as there’s a demand, it belongs.

If all they want to do is write and do a single, then write it...write a few even. Rehearse them. Schedule a concert, or a few, to be recorded. Announce the date(s) as concerts to be recorded and new songs will be played. Record them and release a Blu-ray and all the songs on Spotify and see what happens. If they take off, fine, record a full album with studio versions of those songs and more.
It's not that difficult...if they want to invest the money - and can invest the money.

I’m hoping for a classic old school Journey anthem
