Jeremey H Returns

Postby The_Noble_Cause » Sun Jan 12, 2025 1:31 am

Journey replacement singer and all-around friend of the MR court, Jeremey Hunsicker, has returned to the microphone and released a new Christmas covers EP. As you may recall, Jeremey limited his musical output after enduring a vocal injury on-stage in 2011. While no longer a Perryish tenor, I think all will agree the emotive soul is still there. And if Perry can release Christmas covers, why can't Jeremey?

"Like so many of you, Andy Williams’ Christmas Album has been the soundtrack of my holidays for as long as I can remember. His voice is timeless, smooth as fresh-fallen snow, and for me, he’s the ultimate Christmas crooner. He’s been a huge inspiration to me as a singer, and revisiting these songs feels like coming home for the holidays.

After years away from the microphone, I’m excited to share this three-song EP—a little gift from me to you this season. I hope it brings you the same warmth and nostalgia that Andy’s voice has brought to me and my family year after year.

Hey TNC what a coincidence, I just visited MR noticeboard to post about my new YouTube channel and saw your post here - thanks for the kind words!

Yes I did record 3 Andy Williams Christmas songs a few weeks ago - nothing to do with Steve Perry or what he's been doing lately, I actually have been singing more and more lately along with my stereo and in the car and have been looking for an easy way to re-train my voice and re-learn recording and mixing etc. So with some of the new AI programs that are able to completely strip out stems from music files it seemed like an easy way to have some fun with singing again.

The Andy Williams stuff I actually just did for my dad's birthday (which falls right around Christmas) so I didn't really promote it anywhere (the Bandcamp page was an easy way for old people to download the music files).

But anyway I have started doing some "one take" singing videos just to have some fun learning Logic Pro mixing and exercise my video editing chops and put together a YouTube channel to share some of the covers. I've done 2 so far, Men at Work's "I Can See It In Your Eyes" and Peter Gabriel's "Here Comes the Flood," and I'm hoping to produce a new one every week or so.

The idea is just to have fun with singing again and to have some kind of platform (YouTube) for me to have all my music and videos on as I get older and may not have a place to have all this crap archived from over the years (Don't worry I won't be posting any Journey I don't need their copyright police taking down any more of my YouTube channels haha).

So if anyone is interested in checking out what I'm up to lately have a look. It's meant to be fun, this isn't performance-level singing, I do all the songs in a single take with no edits or pitch correction/sweetening etc. The point is to do the video to show it all happen in real time just as if it were a live performance (or more accurately me singing along in the car).

Here's a link if anyone is so inclined to check out the channel

Take care everyone
