And I like all of the others as well. Just not as much as the above list.

Funny thing is that Lady Luck is my #1 favorite song on the Evolution album.

I can't say I dislike any from the first 3 albums. Perry Era rings true but I do skip over something to hide, ladyluck , I'm crying and homemade love.

There are not a lot of Journey I can say I would put on a "worst" list. Not a lot that I dislike anyway.

The one that always jumps out is "Happy To Give". It just sounds so gay to me.
Maybe "Back Talk". But, if I listen to it as a Steve Smith song, it's fine.
i think it's "Let It Rain" that I really did not understand why Neal thought it was a Journey song. Just so bad.
You can probably list most of the songs from Dream After Dream, except "Little Girl" and "When the Love Has Gone".

Some songs like "Homemade Love" are OK and I need to be in a mood to listen to them. There is a Japan 1980 concert that I just watched where I thought it was awesome...maybe because I had not heard it for so long.

"1990's Theme" from Tron, maybe...I honestly don't remember what it is like. That could be listed, it's mostly forgotten.

Worse yet, it was the only Freedom song they really played live on the Freedom tour. Neal is proud of that garbage. I don't mind when the band goes heavy (see The Time, Chain of Love, All The Things), but LIR just blows.

As I mentioned above, I like all of the songs that JourneyHard listed. But I will say that Happy To give and To Whom It May Concern don't rank very high on my list.

Personally, I love Let It Rain. But it sounds more like a Bad English song than it does like Journey.

Monker mentioned Only Solutions as a possible least favorite. I do agree with him on that. Only Solutions ranks very low on my list of Journey songs. Although I like the long version of it a little better than the short version that is on the box set.

I don't ever really compare anything that was on Dream After Dream with the "regular" Journey songs, simply because of DAD being a soundtrack for a Japanese movie.

There is something Waite-esque in Arnel's delivery, but the dynamics of the song (production, songwriting) are just dire. Basically some Neal blues riffing with some added synth. It's not progressive, it's pedestrian.

Actually, I mentioned "1990s Theme". It's the other Journey song on the Tron soundtrack. I think it's an instrumental...and like I said, it's mostly forgotten.

Hey, now! Imma hafta fight somebody up in here. All this "Happy to Give" slander is just wild. We all have our least favorites (like Open Arms), but DANG!

Not only is Happy to Give not one of their worst songs, it is one of their best songs. I can tell you from a songwriting perspective, it is very creative and original (I broke down every chord in that song when I was producing a cover version and it is so far more harmonically rich and interesting that just about anything you hear in popular music these days - I had never heard anything like it). Lyrically, it is probably Steve's most heart on sleeve, confessional song in his career and yet at the same time it manages to touch a nerve that we all have. Afterall, who is not longing for, if they don't already have it, "...someone who's happy, happy to give you love". I would argue its more universal thematically than even Don't Stop Believin'. Add to that an absolutely EPIC vocal performance and you have a masterpiece. It's also a different song for Journey that still sounds very much like Journey which I love.

I've always loved it too. Also the guitar solo Neal created at the end of it the couple of times they played it back in '04 live worked pretty well too!

Always loved the moody synth vibe. Always thought it would have made a great b side frontiers.

To me Baby I'm leaving you is a novelty song. It is only a hidden bonus track, and it's intentionally nothing like anything else Journey ever recorded. Outside of Schon's guitar solo on it, I have no use for the song.

Musically Backtalk is great. Perry's screaming and talking ruins the song. And what rocket scientist pulled Ask the Lonely?

It's not hidden near enough. SOB always plays when I listen to my Trial By Fire CD.

If I end up in hell that horrendous song will be playing 24/7

Probably the genius of Herbie Herbert...I believe he said releasing "Ask the Lonely" and "Only the Young" as soundtrack songs kept Journey on the charts in the years between Frontiers and ROR. Or, the official reason is there was not enough time on the album to include them...which means they did not want to remove two songs to make room.

Frankly, Frontiers already had enough singles with: Separate Ways, Faithfully, Send Her My Love, After the Fall, and Chain Reaction. Adding those two songs may have made it a "better" album...but it would have taken away from the theme of Side A being the hits and Side B being more experimental. Holding those songs and releasing them with soundtracks was a very, very good idea for that time. And, it is not like Frontiers was a struggling album that didn't sell and could have used better songs to sell the album.

In the years of CD's and streaming, maybe it would have made more sense to release them on the album...there are no "sides" and having more songs is no issue at all. But, for that time in early 1983, I agree that it was a smart move to release them during Journey being on a bit of a hiatus, intentional or not.

Gone Crazy is a fun song to play on guitar though

IMHO it's one of their finest tracks.

Remember Me on a worst track list absolutely mental and makes the rest of the list obsolete
