Neal tweeted out a logo for something called "Journey Beyond" today on his Twitter feed. I know the official band is mostly taking this year off. Is this a new version of Journey Through Time? Will Rolie be present? Discuss.

I'd love it if Neal would put together a side project similar to "Journey Through Time" and record and tour with that band this year. There probably isn't enough time to write, record, release an album and tour in just 2025, however?

The funny thing is that before Schon ever announced Journey Through Time, I had already posted on here that I hoped that Schon would get Rolie and Castronovo and a bass player together to do a side project where they would play music like Journey played on their first 3 albums. Progressive-Rock/Jazz-Fusion.

I have two project ideas that I've had in mind for Schon for several years now. I think that he'd love the ideas. I doubt that he's ever even thought of the one idea at all.

I wish that I knew a way to pass the ideas on to him in private, as I wouldn't want to have anyone else steal the idea. As unlikely as that may be?

Neal was recently in a recording studio with Narada. I'm assuming it has something to do with that, maybe a new solo album.

I can’t imagine Neal naming another side project with Journey in the name. That is part of what got him in trouble with JTT.

Neal is way overdue for a new solo album!

I wish he would stop with the smoke and mirrors and give us a better hint than this. I wouldn’t mind seeing another HSAS style project myself.

"Journey Beyond" I think was a name Neal mentioned an extremely long time ago when talking about the Rolie/Chalfant version of Journey...he said something like they talked about getting together without Perry and calling themselves Journey Beyond, or something like that. It may have even been one of the early interviews he did here...the one where he talks about Chalfant and why they did not choose him...because they already tried that and it did not work out.

If it includes Chalfant and Rolie I would be interested in hearing it. Otherwise, I really don't care. I was never really interested in JTT or Neal trying to start a new version of Journey that he completely controls. I don't know if Nightmare still owns the Journey trademark...if they do, then yes, it would be pretty stupid to try to do something like this without talking to Nightmare first and getting written approval.
