Jon Cain On Jimmy Barnes New Album

Postby The_Noble_Cause » Thu Jun 12, 2025 11:54 pm

Producer Kevin "Caveman" Shirley (TBF, Arrival, Revelation, Eclipse etc.) posted some behind the scenes footage on his FB of the new Jimmy Barnes album, Defiant.

Cain played keys on the track, "That's What You Do For Love." Neal and Jon were all over Jimmy's 1987 release Freight Train Heart. No sign of Neal on this one.

According to Barnes, Kevin was mixing the record in Nashville and Cain was next door. He played the track for Cain who asked / offered to play piano on it. Good tune!

Yeah, I like it, a little throw back to our younger days.
Got a nice Springsteen groove to it too.

I wonder if there was piano written for this and Cain just played it, or, did Cain actually write the piano part all himself. :?:

The song came up on a Spotify playlist today and before I even knew it was Jimmy Barnes I recognized Jon Cain‘s piano. I’m pretty sure Jon wrote that part.
