Thorough and objective analysis, as usual.

Depressing. Probably not Arnel's decision but depressing nevertheless and confirming there is no way of trusting his vocals live again in the future.

Sheds new light on Deen's interview in which he praised Arnel for sounding like his 2008 self again.

According to Deen, "99 percent" of Arnel's vocal issues in the past were caused by "what he was hearing and what he couldn't hear. And oh my gosh, man. Once we figured that out… This is our fifth show in with this new soundman… It's, like, oh my God. He's back," Castronovo said. "He sounds great. He sounds like he did in 2008. It's, like, wow! What an amazing event to have that happen and finally figure that out, after all these years, that that was the issue. And he said, he goes, 'Man, I've been fighting this for 10 or 12 years now… Unbelievable, man. It took one guy to just bring everything down and dial it in better. And he's soaring now — he's soaring again. It's unbelievable.

Not sure how you leap to that conclusion.

I think things like this should be a "band" decision. At least Neal and Jonathan know about it and let it continue. If not, they SHOULD know.

I remember Deen saying that. It was pretty unbelievable to me at the time. After this, he seems to struggle in his midrange, sounding raspy and struggling with control. Then he hits the high notes with perfect pitch and clarity. How can that be if he is struggling with lower notes?

Because Arnel's getting "help". Shame it had to come to this.

They’re a disgrace at this point between the open bickering and vocal assistance. I’m glad I stopped believing in their live performances after Augeri was outed.
