I am all for hearing new Journey stuff 'jrnyjetster', but i am hoping for more Arrival sounding stuff and nothing even remotely similar to Red 13.

I will buy the cd when it comes out, on the day it comes out, but will i be keeping it or throwing it in the garbage as i did with Red 13. I sincerely hope it will be the former and it won't be heading for that great big garbage truck that comes every Monday.

Yeah, I hope its more "Arrival" orientated too. However, I love "State Of Grace"!

They will be in the studio,
does that mean there are songs ready to record and a CD is not far away, or are they just jammin.
Anyway, what was I saying.........

I personally don't believe this band will release another full length cd.
I pesimistically belive that we will have (if anything) another 4 track EP on our hands.
No more, no less.

Uumm, interesting. It seems i am not the only one to be thinking these thoughts then, as i have thought and said this for a long time on other forums.
It would not suprise me in the slightest to see the band disbanding in the next year or so. I think that Schon has lost a lot of interest in the band, and with Soul SirkUS i think he feels born again or he will do.

Just my thoughts anyway.

Hopefully they'll market this one and it will sell more than 10 copies like Arrival.
Can we agree that the bands BEST move would to bring Perry back, go into the studio, and the market the HELL out of the CD as the return of Steve Perry.
Arrival STILL hasn't matched the sales of Trial by Fire and I doubt it's because the band had a different drummer.

NO you're not. You are only loosely dedicated to Journey. Or, were you exagerating when you said, "I would love to hear something from the man again, far more so than i wish to hear something new by the present incarnation of the band Journey" You have to be exagerating in one of these statements...Either that or you are flat out lying.

So it's ok for you guys to interpret Perry sneezing or blinking (or more precisiely, whistling on the background of one Galub song) as a clear indication that the man has returned to bestow his vocal gifts once again upon the eagerly awaiting music industry and the whole wide listening world, yet, it's NOT ok for us Journey fans to even revel in the moment, if for merely a second about the official news that our beloved band is in the studio working on a new album for us?

What a bunch of hate filled party poopers.

Negative. Negative. Negative.

If I heard Perry was in the studio this week working on an album, I'd be absolutely ecstatic.
What do you guys do when you hear about Journey making musical progress?
You find someone way to discredit the news or paint them as liars.
So hate filled.

If it was your beloved Perry, you KNOW you would be assuming he is working on an album.

At least Journey is IN the studio WORKING on something. :D

Can't say the same for Perry!

This thread was started as good news for Journey fans. Why must you always turn things around and attempt to make it a Perry thread?

Bring on that new Journey CD.

So you went out of your way to jump in this thread and pessimistically clarify to everyone that Journey is only physically in the studio and hasn't yet technically recorded an album or any new songs yet because....?

Because you are a big fan?
Because you were just trying to be helpful to those of us who can't read and infer meaning for ourselves?

Of course, they are recording an album in the studio.

What do you think they are doing? Playing strip poker in there?
Last year when Neal told classic rock revisisted that he just came out of the studio with the boys, a few months later Red 13 was released to many fans delight.
If Neal and the guys are in the studio, it's to lay down some tracks. Period.
There is no other reason.

Why must you attempt to subvert each pro-Journey thread into a Perry thread? Let us have our moment in the sun.
Find a new band to enjoy or just go away.

Hmmm....can't answer my question because you know your own actions to be deplorable & well beyond any worthy attempt(s) of justifying?

Here's what I know:
The fans haven't had an album in their hands in quite a while. If there are any fans out there more patient, deserving & loyal than Journey fans, I have yet to encounter them.
You've had more than enough time to get past your indigant feelings about the new lineup. Whaddya say you start taking the high road and allow the fans (who choose to follow this lineup) to revel in these fleeting, rare, final occurences of new Journey musical productivity w/out any pessimistic detractors such as yourself.

In other words, let the fans (who choose to) enjoy the music while they can.

Why the hate?

Weren't you a fan of this group once upon a time?

Can't you remember the exhilarating thrill of holding the latest Journey force newsletter in your young teenage hands and reading about the development of a new song or album?
Can't you remember those times even just a little?

Think hard.

Think back to those days gone by....
Think back to a time when the sound of echoing Neal Schon guitar licks and bellowing stratospheric Steve Perry high notes seamlessly blended into one another, harmoniously floating in the air, over your head, above the stadium rafters and ultimately up and away, forever as one into that beatiful summer starlit night.
It was enough to make your knees quiver and your heart skip a beat, wasn't it?
What a memory.
I entreat you to remember what it was like to be *supportive* of something and not always some darned negative.
It was a fun time to be a fan, wasn't it?
For some (me included) it still is alot of fun to be a Journey fan. Instead of espousing negativity in every post, can't you learn to pull back from the keyboard, shut your eyes, & just whistfully harkon back to those distant days gone by when you too knew what it was like to be a fan.

'Monker'...You don't know me so do not call me a liar. I speak my mind. Is that so hard for you to understand?
'Loosely dedicated'??? Errr don't think so. Flew over 3000 miles not once but twice, to see the current band. Not on a vacation either, straight there, and straight back. Would you fly to the UK to see them? No, didn't think so.

I am a FAN, the ticket stubs and airline tickets prove it. I am not one of those fans like all you on Backtalk that just because the band puts something out its just sooo good, when you know it isn't. Get the picture??
I loved Arrival, hated Red 13. Perry's stuff would be more Journey sounding than new Journey. Know what i mean?

When i fly out next year for the tour (yes dedicated fans do that) i would very much like to meet up with you to discuss me being a liar, instead of you doing it over a keyboard. I'll let you know nearer the time.

I'm outta here on vacation. Thank god. Gotta go before i puke through laughing too much at this shit.

How close minded.
Since when must Journey adhere to only one sound?
The band's music has been changing since the group's inception.

Red 13 sounded like Journey to me.
Maybe not outdated, synthesizer ladden 80's Journey, but it was still Journey

I guess the problem is that for some of the people here, English must not be their first language. In another thread Perry is not unmotivated despite a quote from JDK that is pretty much saying that and Journey goes into the studio yet they are not working on a new album? Journey has been saying for months they were going into the studio after the tour to work on a new album. Please refer to the new section of melodicrock:

"Looks like Journey hit the studio this week to begin work on their next studio album, which the guy shave all been writing material for over the last few months. It will the band's first album since 2001's Arrival and 2002's Red 13 EP."

I suppose a stop light is not red; it is crimson? No wonder these same arguments have been going on for years.

wow.... Incredible how some people can take GOOD news and make it seem like bad news! We know the guys have been writing all summer based on the interviews they gave all summer. We know they've been talking about going into the studio "after the tour".

Personally, I'm surprised they're in the studio this EARLY. I figured it would be January at the earliest....

Now, if I could just figure out where... ;)

New CD in 2005! WOO HOO! :D
