After the alleged disaster in mixing Vapor Trails, I'm sure that the group has this one in the bag. With Nick Raskulinecz in the fold, I don't see how this could get screwed up.

I see really good things for this album. This summer vows to be a nice return for album rockers in the States!

No kidding. That was one of the worst mixed CD's of all time. Just about everything these days is JACKED to the max.

So true-
It's one of the reasons I hardly ever listen to the album- the mix is actually painful to my ears!
It's pretty sad when albums like Moving Pictures, Hemispheres, A Farewell to Kings, etc were mixed SO much better than an album recorded in the 21st century. Sometimes progress is NOT a good thing

There is more to destroying a mix than the actual mix. Mastering is where the real damage occurs these days which is after the mixing stage. You can thnk your local big label A&R mook for this as he wants his artist's CD volume to be louder than everyone else's. Well, there is only one way for that to happen.
