Caravan - and direction of new album

Postby OzzMosiz » Sun Jul 11, 2010 7:08 pm

I really like Caravan and have hi hopes for the new album.
The high pitched guitar picking mid way (where "I can't stop thinking big" is sung) is lovely and lightens the dark tone of the song.

Not as keen on BU2B.

I prefer the synthy 80s Rush to darker 2000's. I liked Snakes & Arrows but found it far too dark so it gets less plays than Moving Pictures through to Presto.

Looking forward to the album though

Caravan, BU2B and the forthcoming Clockwork Angels

I agree on your song sentiments and the hopes for the new album, but both songs sound like they would have been right at home on a Nick Raskulinecz
produced version of Vapor Trails. Looking forward to 23 Sept, when the guys hit San Antonio and can't wait to hear the rest of the disc next year or whenever it's finished.

Vapor Trails is such a poorly produced album. The sound is awful. That album seriously needs remastering.

We'll get this sometime down the road.. I think there is a great album hidden under all that muddiness.

As for Caravan and BU2B, it is good stuff; very busy and heavy.. but I like the heavier stuff. I loved the vibe of Snakes & Arrows. It's all
Rush, so it's all good.

MCM, I too like Snakes & Arrows to a point, but there isn't enough lighter moments in the songs.
That's why I really dig the higher pitched guitar picking in Caravan as it lightens what is quite a dark brooding sounding song.

Am I their only fan that really likes Test for Echo? No one ever seems to mention it, and damn, I think it's a great album top to bottom.

Vapor Trails will never be fixed....the errors were made during mastering. Sorry....and T4E is probably my favorite album front to back....

T4E is probably my least favorite, I don't dislike it, I just never listen to it. Every once in awhile I try to like it but it just hasn't hapened yet. Rush is like that though, I ignored CofS for years and now I love it.

Caravan sounds like a left-over from Ged's My Favorite Headache...especially the 'I can't stop thinking big' part....

S2M,

A left over? It sounds like the best thing they've done in years to me.
