Geddy & Alex interview on Eddie Trunk Rocks

Postby verslibre » Sat Mar 16, 2013 2:37 pm

Geddy literally just said he'd like to re-record Vapor Trails.

There it is, for all of you who hates how the album sounds (I'm not of them).

Also, they both said they have NOT discussed a "farewell" tour or calling it quits anytime soon, just that they'll take a year off after the next round of the Clockwork tour. They're happy right now and they think they're playing better together as a band than they EVER have. Rawk!

Funny that Vapor Trails is the one I'm listening to right now.

Vapor Trails is awesome musically, but almost unlistenable sonically. I'd be the first in line to buy a remixed version, especially if they put it out on vinyl.

Weird, it's never bothered me so that it's unlistenable. Yeah, it's mastered hot but when you play it loud and it's boom-crash-crunch, it's very listenable.

For some reason Geddy mentioned re-recording it instead of remixing it. If they have all the master tracks, they shouldn't have to do it from scratch. I wouldn't mind an overall warmer bass tone.

Personally, I love VT the way it is. The remixes on Retrospective 3 seem VERY sterile to me.
