Are they related?

I was wondering if anyone had heard that Steve Perry and Joe Perry were distant cousins? I know that Joe is from Mass. and Steve is from CA, but could there be a connection? Since there is nothing else going on with SP these days, I just thought this might make a good conversation piece. Thoughts anyone?

There are a billion Perry's in my city alone, and I don't think they can all be related... except maybe very distantly.

Another thing to keep in mind is that a lot of Perry's are English, as I am 99% positive it was originally an English surname.
