Perry contacts Glee??

"Ex-Journey frontman Steve Perry contacted the producers after “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” blasted the show’s pilot episode into overdrive. He was thrilled with his tune’s arrangement.

He is also probably thrilled with his royalties statement. As are music execs enjoying a new revenue source as they keep repeating their mantra, hoping that“Glee” can buoy their struggling industry"
"In Journey, all the hit songs we had were based around Steve Perry's vocals."

UH--what's your point about this, sparkster? Of course Perry will be happy to receive a check. The loons will be crapping their Depends over this little mention, but I see you have had several look-sees, but no replies, so I thought I'd oblige.

He was probably thrilled with the royalties statement in the first place, that's why he was so happy... nihihihi. *plays opening bassline to Pink Floyd's 'Money'*

Thanks for sharing the link. I found the show Glee boring to say the least. What else did the shows producer expect Steve to say....Ummm okay I let you use DSB but I'm not too keen on the arrangement of the song......

I like what Glee did. I'm just wondering what version's next...We have the rock DSB, the dance/techno DSB and the Glee DSB...Hip-hop maybe? I'm sure Steve would NOT be happy with that one...Too much killing going on...LOL

Sorry but this reminds me of an Enya song. Remember those commercials that sold a cd called, "Smooth moods" or something like that? I cant listen to it for more than 10 seconds without a rash developing.

this from an aritcle on billboard.biz. I guess he was on set then, not just a call....

"Why has Fox’ “Glee” succeeded when so many musical television series have failed? Between the script, the song choices and the cast -- as well as production, marketing and Columbia Records working in lock step -- there isn't a weak link, the team behind the hit show revealed Friday.

Executives from Fox and Columbia joined the show’s music supervisor P.J. Bloom, cast member Lea Michele and “Glee” music producer Adam Anders at The Hollywood Reporter/Billboard Film & TV Music Conference to discuss what’s driven millions of “Glee” song downloads and two forthcoming soundtrack volumes.

From the beginning, the strategy for setting up partnerships for the show was very different. Rather than keeping the pilot a secret, Fox presented it to as many music publishers and record labels as it could to get them on board for clearances from the get-go, said 20th Century Fox Television head of music Geoff Bywater.Even Journey’s Steve Perry came to watch his band’s iconic “Don’t Stop Believin’” get incorporated into the first episode."

That was a lotta 'splainin' for something simple. Break it down.

A. Glee = gay show
B. DSB = Friga song

A + B = successful musical

If anyone is interested, the entire article, I only posted the beginning

I did not realize Perry had visited the set, but perhaps that was noted elsewhere
