No Frills

A lot of people don’t really care about perfect id3 tags.

Do you stare and shake your head when your hipster friends talk about how they need jpgs of every album cover to make their iPhone look pretty? Do you simply not care about the difference between “Classic”, “Alternative” and “Modern”? Do you just want something that holds your favorite songs for jogging, or working out, or maybe for a bike trip around the block?

A Memorex Black 2GB Clip & Play MP3 Player is perfect for you. With a tiny yet easy-to-read dot matrix OLED display, you’ll get just the right amount of information for you… almost none! After all, you’ll be the one loading the 2 gigs of memory with music, right? And what kind of iDiot wouldn’t recognize the songs on their own player? If you can’t “name that tune” in three notes, it clearly isn’t worth listening to.

The Memorex Black 2GB Clip & Play MP3 Player handled MP3 and WMA/WMA-DRM 10, so you won’t have to get one of those fancy converter things. Just plug it in the USB port, load it up, and go. Almost twelve hours of charge is more than enough for you. Who can listen to music for twelve hours, anyway? Journey doesn’t even have that many songs, even if you count the Steve Perry solo stuff. Maybe if you threw in some live bootlegs or something.
You can't fix STUPID!

But inaccurate. Journey definately does have more than 12 hours of music NOT including GH, compilations or live product.

Funny story about that... the Journey catalog is exactly 1 GB. I know this because I bought the Revelation player, and it had REVs loaded and I added everything from the self titled debut to Arrival... the result... 957 mb Thats a pretty extensive catalog.
I want a new tour bus filled with old guitars...

It depends on if you have Journey's music in a 'lossless' format, like FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec), Apple Lossless, WAV; or if you have it ripped with lots of missing sound bites, like MP3, MP4, Vorbis, etc.

I happen to have Infinity, Evolution, Departure, Capture, Escape, Frontiers, Raised On Radio, Trial By Fire, Revelations, and The Essential Journey ripped to FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) at Compression 8 (highest compression, still lossless though), and it takes up 4.25 GB. Also, these are all the Remastered discs with a couple extra tracks on them - and I don't have the 2nd disc from Revelations, because it was compressed or something before put on CD, so it sounds like shit.

The plus sides of having your music in a lossless format rather than the alternatives are the sound quality and the chance to convert those files to future compression technologies, as they arise, without losing more sound quality or having to re-buy the music.

As technology moves forward, everyone will be able to afford a great sounding audio system, and so they will want to have their music in a lossless format for the sound quality. Space will definitely not be a problem in the near future, either.
