Speaking as an artist who has been fortunate enough to rely on his talent to pay the rent for 18+ years, I can say that YES it is quite easy to get burned out and want to pull back, especially if you are extremely gifted and you want to give nothing less than 100% to your fans/customers/clients/patrons (by no means am I tooting my own horn here). Example: if you're the most gifted chef in the world, there comes a time when you say "I just don't want to roll another meatball." Same goes for singers, painters, carpenters, whatever. Possessing a talent does not mean that you must put it to use at all times...even if you have a daughter and grandchildren!

OMG 18+ years?! Congrats! And brag all you want, you should always be proud of your gifts.

Well, I kind of disagree here. I will write, knit, sew, sing, until I die. I need those talents especially now, they are my savior. Then again, and no disrespect to you, we are not Perry, a man who has proven himself as an accomplished talented World-known performer with a plethora of fans. Speaking for myself, I think people crave him to sing again 'cause he never gave a formal confirmation that he retired. Some artists say they retired and come back, not go on radio shows and talk about wanting to "maybe" do this and that. Personally I think Perry loved singing and still wants to, that is why I ranted on about his artistry running through his veins. I truly don't believe he wants to stop performing, but I am also the type that says "shit or get off the pot!" Don't tell me you're shitting, just so it! MBPL

Thank you for the congrats....and your dedication to your talents is very admirable! Good stuff all around!

Sounded more like "36 holes in his vocal cords" to me!

Wouldn't those be balls instead of ears? I guess a benefit of that would be that he can hear himself coming.
