ET's got your behind-the-scenes look at the making of the star-studded opening of Sunday night's 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards. From Jon Hamm to Jane Lynch and Tina Fey -- TV's brightest turned on the pizzazz for host Jimmy Fallon's "Born to Run," "Glee"-like extravaganza!
The celebs rehearsed their show-stopping number, choreographed by Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin, in just 48 hours -- and, Jimmy recorded it all on his iPhone! It's the Emmy skit that's gone viral on the Web!
"Kate Gosselin is awesome, what a great sport," Jimmy tells ET of the reality TV star's self-deprecating skit. "She knew that we were taking a shot at her."
Jimmy also says the stars recorded their real voices for the singing portion of the number at Capitol Records in Hollywood, where Jimmy ran into Journey's Steve Perry and got some singing tips.
Also in the number, "Community"'s Joel McHale, "Lost"'s Jorge Garcia and Nina Dobrev from "The Vampire Diaries," Randy Jackson and Betty White!
Watch the video to learn how the stars aligned to pull off the big show opener for the Emmys!

mentioned in the video too, as well as a picture. HEY, what was he doing there anyway????
"In Journey, all the hit songs we had were based around Steve Perry's vocals."

And "singing tips"? Wouldn't one turn to someone who is actually working and in practice for something like that?

Take it for what it is worth, a nice encounter
Nice enough, fun enough to be included in the story of how this whole thing went down
The guy does not go long without being mentioned somehwere, somehow

...and just what do you suppose Mr. Kittens was doing at Capitol Records on that fine day?? I've never been to Capitol Records, but don't recon they just let people with no apparent business purpose wander around aimlessly. Like I said, I've never been there. Maybe they do, I'm just sayin'...

Good to see SP in circulation.

I am not a Fallon fan, but thought he did a great job in the opening. He's more talented than I thought. I'm not an awards show fan either and was not watching, but got a real kick out of the youtube. Maybe I was tainted when I saw Rock of Ages this summer in NYC.
