While I wish Steve Perry no ill health, yes, my well wishes were to Steve Jobbs. This guy is the world's modern day Picasso. An unparalleled artist who has a pulse for what consumers across the globe want and need. And I think it's worth mentioning that this guy has beaten pancreatic cancer and undergone a liver transplant, but is now facing more health concerns. It seems like he's been wrestling angels for more than a few years now.

As someone who has a vested interest in Apple's stock, I'm rooting for him to make a full recovery, even if he never invents another product in his life. This guy is the most tech savvy artist in this world's recent history.

I wish Jobs a full recovery and a healthy return to work as well. He is a true icon for Apple and modern technology, but keep in mind he isnt the one behind all the success of Apple. Sure he is great on stage to present their new stuff, but He isnt any more tech savvy as Bill Gates or Steve Ballmer....
The most succeesful, tech savvy and creative person within the technology world is hands down Shigeru Miyamoto ! ;)

Get well soon Steve!

  This dude designs fucking video games! Steve Jobs is listed as either primary inventor or co-inventor in over 230 awarded patents or patent applications related to a range of technologies from actual computer and portable devices to user interfaces (including touch-based), speakers, keyboards, power adapters, staircases, clasps, sleeves, lanyards and packages. This guy has reshaped the business world and how we conduct business. The other dude invented games for pimple-faced jackoffs and middle-aged weirdos that sit around in women's panties and play video games ... like you, GI Jim and Ehwmatt!

At 57, Shigeru Miyamoto is already known as a living legend, well-known in gaming spaces the world over. With Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Donkey Kong among the creds under his belt, the Nintendo mastermind has his fame well-deserved. His latest badge is Japan's Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of all his work and contributions to gaming over the years.
In May 2008, Miyamoto also came up on #1 of Time's 100 Most Influential People list, an honor that still holds some measure of truth today

Miyamoto was the first person ever to be inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame in 1998, an award that outlines his lifetime achievement and dramatic effect on the video game industry. In March 2005, Miyamoto was among the first honorees in 2004 to receive a star on the Walk of Game: a section of San Francisco's Metreon Center that is modeled on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

On March 13, 2006 Miyamoto received a French honor by being inducted Chevalier ("Knight") into the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, alongside game designers Michel Ancel, and Frédérick Raynal as part of the French video game policy effort.

On November 28, 2006 Miyamoto was featured in TIME Asia's "60 Years of Asian Heroes" with Hayao Miyazaki, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Bruce Lee, and the Dalai Lama.

At the Game Developers Choice Awards, on March 7, 2007, Shigeru Miyamoto received the Lifetime Achievement Award for a career that spans the creation of Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros., and The Legend of Zelda. He was also given credit for the company's recent revolutionary systems such as the Nintendo DS and the Wii. He was the Keynote speaker at that conference, along with Eiji Aonuma and Satoru Iwata.
----------------------------------------------
This guy is who reinvented gaming and put those old Nintendo system in almost every home back in mid 80s. He is the inventor of Mario, the most recognized game character. He has helped Nintendo stay alive for years with his inventions such as Super Mario, Adventures of Zelda and Donkey Kong games. You personally may not show much interest when it comes to gaming, but I dont think you know much about actual PRODUCTS Apple makes either.

Dont get me wrong Dan, I admire Jobs for his ambitions and what he has done for apple.
While you only look after your wallet growing, I happen to know a lot more about what these two have designed the past 3 decades ;)
Sure, no one expect you to play any videogames cause of your (lack of) hand eye cordination skills. But even the mighty Apple could and would not survive without GAMING. The App store is what carries Apple and 80% of the apps there are GAMES .

Do you own an iPhone or iPad or even iPod? And if you gonna compare asin SALES like you do with music, Nintendo has sold over 200 millions Mario games,, ( Apple has sold 60 million iPhones, and 45 million iPod Touches, bringing the total number of devices running on the platform to 105 million. Add another 20 millions for iPads and its still less than 200 million)

Again DannyBoy, I love Apple and their products,,, while Steve jobs played a minor role in INVENTION of iPhone, iPad and iPod, Shigeru invented , designed and created all mario games all zelda games and many other first party Nintendo games. 8)

I see you conveniently left out the 10 billion downloads at the iTunes store and look at this:

Apple sold nearly 15 million iPads in 2010, blowing away analysts' estimates, which averaged 3.3 million and topped out at 7 million, TechCrunch noted, citing a post on Asymco.

Research from IDC shows that nearly 17 million media tablets were shipped worldwide in 2010 -- which the firm attributed to demand for the iPad.

IDC said the iPad represented nearly 90% of media tablets shipped in the third quarter of 2010.

The firm predicts that 44.6 million media tablets will be shipped worldwide in 2011, growing to 70.8 million units in 2012.

Do the math on those sales at about $600 a pop. 8)

I left the downloads out cause those are based on apps that other people made , not Steve jobs !
99% of the apps are THIRD PARTY which proves ZERO when it comes to JOB invention. ;)
If We're gonna compare actual money made and units sold , then I couldve brought in the massive sales of ALL Nintendo Systems : NES, SUPER NES, Nintendo 64,GAMECUBE, Wii, Gameboy, DS and all the first party games that Nintendo released. ;)

Keep in mind HALF of those apps in App Store are FREE,,, and out of the other half that arent free , 80% are $.99 apps. ;) On average a Nintendo software sells for $30 ( and they make their money mainly on software than hardware) Profit !! ;)

I thought we were compaing Myamoto vs Jobs not Apple to Nintendo , but fine, even there, Nintendo wins on total units sold and toal $$ made . This is a great learning experience for you  ;) You can thank me later with a nice cold Heineken next time we meet :)

Apple will easily surpass 200 million total iPads sold in 2012 or 2013. Multiply that by $600. Take the 100 million iPhones that will soon be sold (they're at about 90 million now, with the Verizon deal expected to net at least 10 million more) and multiply that by $600. The numbers are staggering. Apple is the world's second biggest company behind Exxon Mobil and will soon be the biggest. Their future earnings in one quarter because of the iPad and iPhones, say in 2012, will easily surpass what Myamoto has done in his entire life! Like they say in Mario Kart ... Game Over.

So youre comparing APPLE again to Myamoto ? Focus !!! Thats like comparing apples to oranges  you're comparing a company to a person. A person who has reinvented the gaming industry and has managed to make his company tons of money. ;)

Seriously Dan, you need to pay attention. 200 million iPad sales are Apple's GOALS.... during that time, Nintendo will also sell more Wii,DS and their new 3DS coming out soon ;)

Jobs was the visionary for the iPad and allowed, like always, no focus groups. In fact, his own people were pissed when he rejected the idea of a stylus and demanded that the iPad be a touch-only product. Seems like that worked out.

I am a fanboy of technology. I enjoy my Apple products (love my iPhone and Apple TV !) , but equally enjoy my PS3, Xbox and Wii... Nothing like playing old school games like the very first Super Mario or Zelda game. But its also fun to see where technology has brought us ! The new God Of War game on PS3 is amazing. The technology used in Kinect/Move/Wiimote are simply outstanding! Its just great that there is so much competition around. Speakin of which, I think Apple will have to step it up a notch on iPad 2, cause during the next year or two, there will be some amazing tablets out there that will give Apple the much needed competition in that area :)
