Whuuuut? How is answering some questions once every couple years "messing" with people? :?: :?:

You can't seriously believe he does it just to mess with people and "watch the fans go nuts" over it.
I'm sure he's just so bored that he's sitting there looking for ways to bug people.

Why does he do it then? Well fuck if I know, but my best guess would be that he is probably aware that even though he isn't in the spotlight at this point, he still has people that remained fans and would appreciate the interaction? I can't really think of another reasonable motive (and "messing with people" is not a reasonable motive, unless he's just THAT much of a bastard...LOL)... There obviously isn't an underlying reason such as marketing and promotion (the reason most everyone else gives interviews... they're up to something and want to promote it), so other than the fact that he's probably just aware that people appreciate it, what other or more reason do you need or want? Oops, missed this. I READ the post because I thought "Hmm, maybe this COULD be Steve gathering names for a mailing list for when he actually produces something". Of course, it only turned out to be for his yearly Cat, Baseball, and Feelings updates... no thanks.

Obviously, I'd like it to be more (duh), but it's always the same stupid stuff. Sounds like Steve left Journey and got a subscription to Oprah magazine or something...
Sorry, but the guy is THE biggest disappointment that the music industry every had. Doesn't mean that what he did was not complete Magic. It was. It means- Dude, I'm not interested in what your favorite color is, your favorite baseball team is, or that you're having to change your litterbox twice a week now because your cat is just too big.... I'm interested in what you're doing MUSICALLY. Since that is NOTHING, then why should I be interested?

Sorry that offends some. The guy's a personal hero and it blows that he no longer is creative. Knowing that he's happy in Cat-man-do doesn't interest me. If you guys find it riveting, that's great, and I certainly didn't slam anyone here. But really... how many times can you hear "I'm doing nothing. I THINK about music every day." before you have to find the nearest garbage can and barf?

Steve, if you want my email address or questions, then get away from the stock answers and let's hear these demos you've been working on for 20 years....

Well, I gotta say, I agree on that. It isn't that I don't appreciate someone (anyone) taking time to answer questions like, because I'm sure it's time comsuming to weed through them all, for the F/A people, and time consuming for him to answer them - usually these things end up about 90+ questions long or so, don't they? But the vanilla questions and answers get stale. Granted there have been a few interesting and entertaining ones... a lot of it may be on the asking end too... I mean, if he's answering questions like that, then someone is asking them, right? Have some balls, put some thought in.

(I should talk... LOL... I sent 3... a kind of unique (I thought) interesting one, but safe, a boring semi-'safe' one that I already know the answer to, and then a "just for the hell of it" funny one. I tried... I couldn't come with anything earth shattering... I mean I'm sure I could, yes, but it's never anything that would answered...lol)

My ultimate wish is let Howard Stern get hold of him for an interview (never ever in a million years gonna happen though... I don't know what Sp's thoughts on HS are, But HS can't stand him....  ) because he's about the best interviewer ever... Talk about interesting q&a! He pulls stuff out of people, stuff they even say they will not talk about, he gets it out. His celeb interviews are the best part of that show sometimes. Imagine what he could pull out of this one... LOL

You know, Howard is no "GREAT HUMAN BEING" but I swear to God, the best McCartney interviews were the ones that Howard did. They were really really good and he asked questions nobody ever would. Even though Paul ducked some of those, the way he ducked them and the way Howard interacted with him was really really great. That was great radio.

That's the thing... he asks what no one else has the nerve to, and most of the time, he GETS ANSWERS!

I'm 51 years old and i have seen Perry 9 times and with each vocal masterpiece he presented to the world during his run, NO QUESTION AT ALL, the catalog and touring burnt away his technical vocal tools along time ago, not recently. That's why he did not want to make a comeback into the industry. He is a man who will not settle for less, rather than what he once had. The 70's and 80's are to blame.

Sounds right...and, it's probably fun for him as it is for us.

A birthday hug for Mr P. this week. Even though he's not still performing like my other 2 faves, he's still my all-time favorite singer. Aw Nora I really wish you were there.

Um; yeah....I wished I was there on that day, too...

BUT ~ I'd probably have a personal "Beatlemania" moment, if I DID meet him....

Overall....I think it's best that I WAS NOT there on that day!

I agree with you bjg. I love him AND his music. It would be awesome if he were to release a new CD and tour to promote it, I feel that he is such a recluse and wonder at times if he really still care's about us. We have seen him recently more than in the past few years all together and he kept thanking the Giants for getting him interested in music again. Well then, what the hell have we the fans been doing all these years?? DUH!!! I will always love and support him, I just think that he needs to show some gratitude once in a while. Without us, he probably would still be working on a farm somewhere. If he doesn't make that comeback this year, I don't think we will ever see him again!!! I hope and pray that he proves me wrong, after all, why else would he be growing his hair LONG again??
