Cool. I hope i win the drawing gift ... Neat. Nice thing to happen today because I am SICK AS A DOG. Here is it.. He didnt answer the one where I asked how he feels about his voice today.

My question

Would you consider releasing the catalog (Journey & SP Solo) in one of the new HD surround sound formats like blu-ray? CD quality just isn't good enough anymore after being spoiled by DVD-audio surround. - Mark

The question was longer and edited by the way.. His reply.....

I think those decisions are up to Sony for they own those performances..........I'm sure Sony is considering that for they are always looking at new ways to re-package stuff............ I would like that too............

I bet he would.... hehe

One of my questions was answered too - the question about a collboration with a country or crossover artist. The question did get edited from the original I posed. One of the other questions I asked was:

Phil Collins recently gave a Rolling Stone interview in which he stated that due to decades of hurtful criticism, he has little interest in putting out any new music. Years ago you made the statement that you didn’t need to read or hear what the critics thought because fan reaction gave you all you needed to know. Now that you admit to having the music bug again and are recording, how do you plan on gauging fan reaction – through the internet or can we expect some live performances or a tour?

Sadly, I have to admit I really do think he's done...and not necessarily because of his voice, but because I think he is is own worst enemy. Whether it's indecisiveness about what should be studio recordered versus a demo, or fear that new music would not be accepted or live up to the standards he's built in his own mind, he's let both cripple him from moving forward. In any case, it's just a shame that someone with such a God-given talent can let it languish.

In thinking about it, maybe we've been wrong about all the assumptions with a Neal/Journey reunion - maybe the real truth is that after Steve A. was pushed out, NS and/or JC tried unsuccessfully to get him back in the band (it would be in their best interest financially if all the stories about the $$$$ ties are true) and SP turned them down. It would certainly explain a lot of the anomosity that Neal seemed to have for him in that GQ interview. If so, that would certainly explain why they settled for a SP-clone in AP. SP would technically still be keeping his "promise" to his mom and remain part of Journey without actually being "in" Journey. Kevin Shirley said as much in his interview:"But I can tell you he's still a key component of the decision-making part of the band. Nothing gets played or released without Steve Perry signing off on it. I'm not privy to the details of their arrangement, but I can tell you this: if Steve Perry wanted to be back singing with Journey, everybody would find a way to make that happen."

All of this reminds me of the problems with Sting & the Police: by the time of Synchronicity, they were sick of each other — Sting and Stewart hated each other, and although Andy didn't show as much venom, he could be quite grumpy — and there were both verbal and physical fights in the studio. Read about it here: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar04/a ... tracks.htm

mine also got answered. #25.

"Back when you were just starting out, you and The Sullies played in the Battle of Bands at the Calaveras County Fair and won. The prize was that promoter Bill Graham would get you a gig at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco. Did you ever get that gig and what was it like playing at the Fillmore?"

He answered my question too:

I've seen pictures of you at fairs and amusement parks. What's your favorite fair food? I bet its funnel cake! - Parfait

Too bad he didn't give out the recipe. I love me some funnel cake!

Jesus Christ, woman. That was a joke.

I did send in a couple of questions though, but they were probably too hard to answer. I asked him what he'd do to his voice to deteriorate it so quickly, and why he wouldn't just give a definite answer to his fans whether or not he would release any music, instead of dicking around with pseudo answers. Guess he's too busy crying by the road, eating funnel cake and jerking off in his garden.

The musician Steve Perry lost himself somewhere around Frontiers. He was a rock star. Now he's just kinda gay.

Yeah. I pushed in a few compliments too though, but of course he wouldn't answer them. It would be cool if Andrew or anyone else could interview him and ask the tough questions, not just what kind of shit he puts on his halibut or how many times he jizzes to Oh Sherry.

Hi Mark,

In case you haven't read the Q&A yet, Steve is sending a gift to 3 people randomly selected from those who sent in questions that he answered. Congratulations! You are one of the three.

Please email me the address where you would like your gift sent. It's just a little something that Steve wanted to do to say thanks.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Me neither, Tammy, never ever. But my questions tended toward the lame. Some people can come up with some very thoughtful, insightful questions...and SP seems to grativate toward those.
