Radio Station Q95, 94.7 in Indiana, SP new CD

Postby journey361 » Thu Mar 10, 2011 7:22 am

Last night, Tuesday (March 8) on my way home from work, Radio Station Q95, 94.7 in Indiana said Breaking news coming up in 15 minutes about Journey and Steve Perry. They played a Journey song and after it, the DJ gave the dates for Journey in concert in Indy and he then said, "and former Journey frontman Steve Perry will also have a album coming out this summer as well".

Sony and Perry will piggy-back off of Eclipse and be releasing a ballad in June or July. Perhaps an album, too.

Will be interesting to compare sales numbers. So far, I think Journey is winning, only because they have an actual release date!

The truth is out - St John IS Madsplash!
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Actually, Sony has been the big winner so far as their catalog has stayed on Billboard consistently (Greatest Hits at #154 this week)and finally broke through on the European charts, even while Azoff and Nomota chose not to take advantage of all the hoopla surrounding DSB last year.

Now, I understand the band needed a break but flying under the radar while you are currently getting the most pub you have had in 20 years? A change in plans might have been warranted in that case, even if it was just a mini-tour like St. john was suggesting, hell even two or three stadium shows with 4 or 5 openers like Foreigner, REO, Night Ranger and Styx and then tell everyone "See you next summer when we release our new album".
Alas, I'm not the manager and that ship has already sailed.

From your lips to God's ears.

But I wonder if you are making an educated guess, are holding steadfast to some type of information you have attained, or are doing this to tease the loons into a frenzy!

Just another DJ regurgitating something he read online to fill airtime. Nothing more, nothing less. Thanks to Glee and The Sopranos, new Journey is finally emerging out from under Perry's shadow. It was a tough long haul during the Augeri years, filled with various indignities, but they are finally getting their just props.
