Tried to set the night on fire...

Postby scarab » Thu Aug 11, 2011 12:25 pm

Was never the biggest fan of this song back in the day, but over the years it really has grown on me to being the best on Street Talk.

Great music/lyrics...good to see Steve paying respect to so many legends.

Not to mention....the almost-non-recognizable lower register is something to behold.

Captured By The Moment is my third favorite song off of Street Talk after Oh Sherrie and Foolish Heart.

It's my favorite, by far. Strung Out is great, too. Oh Sherrie is pretty good, but Foolish Heart is dog shit.

I'm afraid I must demand the immediate surrender of your man-card.

 Surprisingly I kind of agree with ya for once, well except the dog shit part. Love CBTM, Strung Out and Oh Sherrie, but not as fond of Foolish Heart either. And I do love the motowny I Believe from Street Talk too.

Heard a killer version of Oh Sherrie last friday....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNFP6yphL3c

 Oooh...Deb got a peck on the cheek from Eric.

Haven't listened to ST for a long time...I do love the album. All things considered, OS and FH are probably the 2 best songs, still played on radio today.

Years after Steve made the hot SO video, but the 1st time I caught a glimpse of it was what cemented my loon card forever :P .

That looks too smoochy to be a peck!
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

 Well played sir! LOL!

I like Oh Sherrie, mostly, because of the nostalgia involved. One of those deals where it reminds me of a certain time and place. Not to mention that I had a crush on a girl in school whose name was Sherry...lol! As for Foolish Heart, it's a guilty pleasure. I didn't like it at first, but the older I got and the more women troubles I had, the more I really respected that song...lol! But, "Captured" should have been much bigger. That and "Running Alone".

One thing about these 80's albums. They mean more to me the older I get, because their sound reminds me of certain times in my childhood and so forth. Kind of brings me back to an more innocent age I suppose. It definitely reminds me of those summer days when I just sat back listening to the radio and soaking up the sun.

Side note, my girlfriend and I were driving back home from Charlotte, NC the other day, and we had the 80's station playing on the XM in the car. We had so much fun singing (and sometimes making fun of some of the songs.) The 80's were a fun time in music in my opinion.
