I noticed that it was loaded with messages through music to some special people in his life, I hope they get it because it was as clear as glass without going into great details. I think a great song that would sum up Steve Perry is the song by the Four Tops called "Still Waters Run Deep" and that is why so many fans love him forever and always. Steve if you read this post keep running deep because I think you love your fans and your music as much your fans love you and your music. 8)

Well that was pretty neat! Have to say that was the first time I heard the remaster of Running Alone and the work done on it was evident. His voice was really crisp on that track.

Based on all the stuff he played and his comments about it, when he does record something new, if he ever releases it, I think for the most part it will be pretty contemporary stuff with a few classic nods here and there. Certainly not Journey-esque. He's clearly being influenced by more current artists these days.

That was cool...he chose a variety of songs, some of his favorites & some dedicated to special people in his life that they like...he's smitten that's for sure. :)
When I first heard "Secrets" by One Republic on GMA I had to buy it right away...just one of those songs that knocked me over right there, all those orchestra string instruments & the beat. Love "Collide", too.
Hope he does this again, like he said!!

Steve did a great job as a DJ... The fact that he has such a diverse love of bands/singers/genres...
kept my attention...lol instead of being a channel flipper..
And hey he's got a great voice for the radio too... :D

One more thing..(on the pix upstairs)...glad to see your out of your "total" black fashion...
Well grays ok too...your getting there...

Job well done.. :D

Loved lol..[]Steves shout out to Neals fingers at the end ...

I can't believe I missed this. I thought I had it set to record but I must have done something wrong. Did anyone record it that is willing to share?

SP didn't give Neal a "shout out"... in my opinion, he gave him a tribute. The man literally ended his show with Neal in mind and none other. That's one of, if not the, classiest and coolest things I've ever heard of SP doing and I'm very impressed by it.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

I'm not one to think I know anything about anything, but the words Steve has had for Neal in the past few months have been pretty cool. It's kind of moving.

Just heard the recording of the show from last night. Add me to the list of people that thoroughly enjoyed SP's handling of the host duties (was there any doubt on how he well he goes about with business?). Steve certainly chose a divergent of songs to spin...kinda goes with his eclectic taste in music...and each came with a story... Well done, Steve.

From Led Zep to White Stripes...some r&b...adult contemporary...bodes well as he puts his "new album" together...ahem... :)

This was a great listen....his speaking vocie is so soothing to listen to on radio. His choice of music and the information that accompanied each song/artist so interesting! Would love to hear him do this on a regular basis. Lora, thanks for the tip on this!

Glad he got to do this. Seems I have read in the past that radio and being a DJ was something he always wanted to do. He seems so at peace with everything. He has a broad taste in music. Would love to hear him do it again. It is just interesting to see what music he and/or people in his life enjoys. Hope to someday hear all this new music he is writing.
